Job Description

Team Structure:

·           Total team size 5 in Rates Implementation Team (London and Delhi)-   The successful candidate will work in the Environments Services Team-

 

Team Function and responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will be work in the Environments Team in London providing 'follow the sun' support for the complex suite of test environments for Rates Services including managing interfaces to other downstream systems and business areas-
  • The team will be responsible for the provision of stable test platforms coordinating with the Infrastructure teams, Application Development Teams, Projects and Users to ensure the test platform is available when requested, usable and fully supported during its period of use in the region-
  • The team will also be responsible for undertaking process improvement initiatives to reduce the manual error prone tasks for environment build and environment management-


    Requirements

    Business Knowledge

    ·           Proven track record of providing support in a development or technical role in the Financial Banking Industry

    ·           Ideally 3+ years experience in a support role in a financial environment (preferably derivatives trading), although willing to also consider candidates with less experience if   their Technical experience is very strong and there is a desire to learn the business and work in a service function-

    Technical knowledge

    ·           Good understanding of the required technical platforms, including UNIX, Shell Scripts, Perl, Sybase, XML,   Windows, GRID and Web Based Technologies

    ·           Experience of providing support   in a complex front to back environment

    • Good understanding of the SDLC and knowledge of Configuration Management and Version Control
    • Good understanding of Quality Assurance and how it is achieved

    Additional Useful Skills:

    ·           Experience of testing in a complex banking environment

    ·           Knowledge of Release and Change Management functions

     

     


      Responsibilities

      Role specific responsibilities

      ·           Day to day coordination of the activities required to support the test environments in use within Rates as well as the various customers of Rates Test Platforms-  

      ·           Scoping and planning the environment requirements with the Technology and Project Teams to ensure there are sufficient with the appropriate configuration of environments for the various demands for upstream and downstream test requirements

      ·           Provide start of day (for each location) environment readiness reports coordinating with offshore tests teams to execute automated smoke tests and circulate to all interested parties

      ·           Provide intraday communications with regard to planned and unplanned outages impact the test effort

      ·           Coordinate environment refreshes, deployments and data take on and date rolls with the Project / Application teams

      ·           Initiate and contribute to process improvement for all application environment setup and deployments

      ·           Provide a Level 1 support service to all streams of testing using Rates environments and undertake Root Cause Analysis with the aim of permanently resolving environment setup and configuration incidents-
