Job Description
· Team Structure: Global development team with developers and testers in London, Singapore and Delhi, reporting to Head of Electronic Markets and FX Technology for RBS GBM- · Function and responsibilities: The team maintains and improves the RBSM Desktop FX and MM Trading applications and additional eCommerce-related services as well as developing related investment projects and responding to emerging business requirements in an agile manner-
Requirements
Business Knowledge: · Front office investment banking experience: agile delivery to business users, understanding of the roles and relationships in front-office banking- · eCommerce application experience- Technical Knowledge: · Proven track record of design, development and delivery as a developer and technical lead- · OO development experience with Java development in large scale, high volume, multi-threaded critical business applications (deployed in the context of a J2EE server) · Expert Java Development skills, on both server and client-side- · Full development lifecycle experience, including familiarity with modern software engineering practices including agile, test driven development, continuous integration environments, working in a modern development environment with the latest tools- Additional Useful Skills: · Knowledge of Foreign Exchange and Money Markets · Swing Experience · Experience of other technologies for delivering rich user experience in web pages
Responsibilities
· Role specific responsibilities: Approximate 50-50 split between - 1- Provide hands-on technical leadership to a team of Java developers- Technical leadership includes analysis of requirements, design, estimation/planning, change management, mentoring, and ensuring the delivery of maintainable and high quality code- 2- Design and development on a series of BAU and Investment initiatives to increase the number of business channels that feed into our FX platforms- This includes targeted Client Segment GUI offerings, API Development and refactoring of existing platforms- The role will report to the PM for this initiative-
