Job Description Developer working initially on Money Markets, but with considerable scope to progress through other roles in the team- Deliveries include rollout of new products, improvement to trader pricing, price distribution both internally and externally, automation of pricing system testing and support team tasks, refactoring of existing codebase- Requirements Solid understanding of the fundamentals of vanilla Java programming - Multithreading, OO, distributed computing etc- Java OO server-side development - Not EJB or Web- Development experience on a large complex codebase Application development involving an understanding of the user domain, rather than just implementing technical solutions- Real-time experience Ideally with electronic markets experience- Proven interest in financial products Additional Useful Skills: Electronic Trading Improving development practices for team as a whole Money markets or other financial products experience C# Responsibilities Centralised Pricing is a global, high performance, real-time, pricing and electronic trading system for Interest Rate Swaps, Government and Corporate bonds, Money Markets, FX, Credit Derivatives, Commercial Paper, Loans and Emerging markets- Centralised Pricing has enabled RBS to become a market leader within this Electronic Trading space- A global but London centred team of 80 develops and supports Centralised Pricing- Centralised Pricing is Java server side, C# GUI and Sybase database- The Individual Keen interest in financial products and eager to develop a career in technology in front office investment banking Takes ownership of issues and manages them appropriately Genuine interest in teamwork - assisting and working with others, and aligning development work with team goals Understanding that application development is more than purely coding Enthusiastic
