Job Description
A global but London centred team of 80 develops and supports Centralised Pricing- Centralised Pricing is Java server side, C# GUI and Sybase database- Despite complex systems we have a fast turnaround, underpinned by a very strong development team- We are looking to hire a high calibre developer, working initially on pricing of government and supranational bonds and swaps- The work we have in this space is adding new pricing models for existing desks, adding new trading desks, refactoring of the existing codebase, performance improvements and automation of support team tasks- We are looking for a candidate with potential to play a major role in the team going forward- There is considerable scope for career development within the Centralised Pricing area-
Requirements
Solid understanding of the fundamentals of vanilla Java programming - Multithreading, OO, distributed computing etc- Java OO server-side development - Not EJB or Web- Development experience on a large complex codebase Minimum 2:1 from major university in scientific subject, and minimum BBB A levels- Application development involving an understanding of the user domain, rather than just implementing technical solutions- Real-time experience For a contractor strong vanilla fixed income front office experience For a permanent developer proven interest in pricing financial products Additional Useful Skills: Electronic Trading Improving development practices for team as a whole Fixed Income Pricing C#
