Team Summary
  • The Single General Ledger (SGL) is the collective term given to an established platform to deliver fully reconciled financial and management information reporting to the GBM division of Royal Bank of Scotland Group-
  • SGL captures and processes trading activity in real time ( and on a batch basis ) across the bank generating accounting events for position management and other reporting (i-e- operational, P&L, statutory, regulatory)- The system produces thousands of reports on a daily basis, and has several thousand users-
The architecture summarily comprises :
  • bespoke Trades Data Warehouse ( Sybase 12-5-3 ) to capture and rationalise trade information by batch and in real time; -
  • bespoke Static Data Mart ( Sybase 12-5-3 ) to provide golden source static for enrichment purposes;
  • vendor based OST ( v5-20 ) accounting rules engine to convert trade events to account postings;
The Finance Technology department is responsible for all support and change related activity within the Finance business division-   The Investment Projects team focuses on delivering specifically funded, and generally large scale, change and new capability to Finance IT system


    Requirements
    Role Summary
    Responsible for a team of Test Analysts, as well as functional responsibilities aligned with improving product quality work with the Testing team to assist with the preparation of test plans and the testing of software to company guidelines and standards- Strong communication (written and spoken English), analytical skill set with experience of working on projects in a structured project lifecycle-     The role typically involves
    • Familiar with industry standards and certification, and drives efforts to bring products into conformance with such standards-
    • Evaluates, maintains and improves Testing roles and responsibilities within the development life-cycle-
    • Investment banking experience and ability to build and guide functional test case and plan-
    • Responsible for Test, Test Tools Development and configuration management activities-
    • Manages team compliance with existing measures for reporting testing efforts-
    • Co-ordinate testing tasks within team-
    • Communicate progress and problems appropriately to Test Manager-
    • Produce stats and progress and coverage report


      Essential Skills
      • Ability to lead a team of testers
      • Ability to build test plans-
      • Ability to build test plan and testing schedule- -
      • Understanding of Date ware housing
      • Knowledge of tools Quality Centre (Test Director) , QTP including test plan, Test lab and defect modules -
      • Domain Knowledge ( Bonds & Equities, Credit, Collaterals , Exotics) etc -
      • Non Functional expertise for (capacity, DR etc) - Unix Shell Scripting, SQL, PLSQL
      • Experience of working as part of a full project lifecycle-
      Experience - 8 + years     Useful Additional Skills  
      • Knowledge of reporting tools as discoverer
      • Knowledge of Sybase
