Job Description Purpose of the role - A purchasing professional with an in-depth understanding of Strategic Sourcing and Vendor Management-
- Providing input to Technology Sourcing commodity strategies, delivering supply chain projects and managing key suppliers across RBS group
- This individual has responsibility for owning and developing commodity strategies for the areas under their direct control-
- This individual requires to develop and implement a robust project based approach to ensure the pro-active management of contracts and projects to ensure the delivery of cost saving and revenue benefits
- This individual is responsible for ensuring that commercial agreements with third party suppliers mitigate both supply chain and contract risk
Deliverables - Responsible for the delivery of value add and P&L savings within their commodity in support of overall Technology Sourcing financial targets
- Support the development and management of the commodity strategies within their Category Team
- Deliver key supplier management, including the delivery of measurable benefits-
- Build strong relationships with key internal business partners to ensure that world class sourcing techniques are being applied in a consistent group wide basis-
- Maximise their contribution to eSourcing programme-
The Individual Experience: - Extensive years purchasing and/or relevant commercial or contract experience-
- Graduate level education, with post-graduate or relevant professional qualifications an advantage-
Other Significant Role Requirements: - Must be able to work flexibly and be willing to apply their skills and knowledge across a broad range of projects and activities as required
- Must have strong interpersonal and influencing skills-
- Required to market and sell the benefits of Group Sourcing and Vendor Management to businesses and to extend the function's influence-
- Must be a strong negotiator with a track record of project delivery within agreed time scales-
- Must be a persuasive presenter with the ability to engage and gain support across the Group and be able to sell the benefits of the Group Sourcing and Vendor Management function and the Strategic Sourcing approach / methodology
