RBS Group Property is an accredited world class property services organisation serving the RBS Group in the UK, Offshore and Europe- In the UK alone, we maintain an estate of over 3,000 buildings and manage a property portfolio exceeding 2 million square metres- We now require a highly experienced Technical Operations Manager to manage our key buildings in London-

Job Description

This role will have responsibility for managing and coordinating technical support functions across a number of critical buildings within the Bishopsgate area, central London and other similar buildings as required- The key purpose of the position, is to provide resilient, reliable and safe working environments which support business critical operations and to maintain these environments using a team of specialist support vendors 24 x 7 x 365-

As a strategic part of the City Critical Technical Operations Team, the Technical Operations Manager is responsible for:-

  • Maintaining IT environments and high profile critical operations across corporate buildings which may support Senior Executive Management professionals, and buildings regularly visited by high value individual and corporate customers-
  • Managing an out-tasked specialist vendor engineering resource to deliver a highly effective customer focussed service delivery within specific high net worth buildings-
  • Manage a full range of engineering building maintenance services in a way that maximises value, minimises cost, mitigates risk, achieves the desired quality and maintains maximum availability of installed assets and systems-
  • Working closely with colleagues within the Property Management team to deliver against agreed SLA's/KPI's and to provide customer focussed solutions-
  • Manage and coordinate all health and safety issues across the nominated critical sites-


    Responsibilities
    • Technical Leadership of operations and maintenance, providing effective and low cost/best-value Property Support Services to the businesses, managing a team of technical GP and contract staff for all areas of responsibility that provide resilient and safe environments-
    • Technical responsibility for high profile/critical operations of Data Centres infrastructures-
    • Manage Data Centre Operations Team to deliver a highly focussed service (Team comprising both in-house staff and external suppliers)-
    • Manage a full range of Maintenance Services in a way that maximises value, minimises cost, risk and downtime and achieves the desired quality-
    • Work closely with colleagues within the Technical Services team to deliver against SLAs and work to improve customer solutions-
    • Manage all health and safety issues for critical sites-


      The Individual

      Experience

      • Experience in leading teams with a demonstrable track record of leading continuous improvement activity and can display sustainable quality improvement-
      • Cross-boundary working particularly within a Corporate and Retail Banking environment-
      • Experience in managing change, process, people, and operations-
      • Operating at management level in the property management or related fields-
      • Facility Management experience within the financial business environment

       

      Technical Knowledge

      • Specific knowledge of current legislation and mandatory standards relating to safe working practices-
      • High standard of Engineering knowledge and experience, particularly major complex buildings
      • Technical/specialist knowledge in Facilities Management, operating in a Technical Manager role within an organisation with a significant property portfolio-
      • Minimum HND in Electrical or Mechanical engineering-
      • Membership of a relevant engineering institute plus w orking to achieve Chartered status of a relevant professional institution desirable-
