Position: Technical Business Manager Location: Flexible Salary: £35,000 to £48,000 + Car Allowance Santander UK The Santander Group has more than 150 years' experience in global banking and more branches worldwide than any other international bank. The recently created Internal Governance and Control (IGC) department is an independent control function reporting to the CEO of Santander UK and to the Board. This division is responsible for ensuring the bank has effective governance, product management and project control frameworks in place. This challenging role will require you to develop/demonstrate ability to effectively drive and manage both incremental and radical regulatory change projects across Santander Group, applying an in-depth understanding of the strategic objectives and business model of Santander, through to planning and execution. Support in an advisory capacity and performance monitoring will be fundamental to achieving success. As a Technical Business Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include: - Post graduate, numerate, with significant experience in analytical modelling, consulting or strategic planning experience or a degree in Engineering; Maths; Sciences
- Ability to undertake end-to-end analysis to respond to regulatory requirements through desk and field research, selecting appropriate tools to support current state diagnosis as well as to-be architectures and process improvement
- Managing a portfolio of initiatives from design, through to feasibility and execution with experience in structuring workshops and presentations as well as defining and scoping project deliverables
- Proactively building relationships with and influencing key stakeholders to enhance team credibility and effectiveness, including identification of stakeholders to mobilise assignments
- Retail Financial Services experience with significant complex strategic issue problem solving
- Relevant Strategic management consulting experience
As a Technical Business Manager your responsibilities will be; - Inform and support management across Santander to respond to key regulatory changes by selecting and defining key projects
- Understand/advise upon the implications of regulatory change on business levers such as organisation structures, productivity, management processes and systems amongst others
- Manage/lead/support buy-in discussions, from impact analysis to communication and implementation
- Lead the project approval process, making sure that the appropriate budget and resources are allocated to each project based on prioritisation analysis
- Manage 1 or more of a portfolio of prioritised projects / work streams with high impact; identify and resolve risks and control budget
- Manage/lead the design, development and implementation of a robust business process end-to-end analysis, design, implementation and control methodology to ensure the smooth transition from the current state to the desired future state.
- Track projects through all lifecycle stages
- Provide a controlling mechanism for all regulator interactiion
- Lead and/or represent the IGC at appropriate strategic forums and steering groups
