An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the newly formed Strategy Team within the Strategy & Change division of RBS International- The Strategy Team has been established to bring an external, forward looking perspective to our future business planning activity- This role is graded at Appointed level, IC1-
Job Description The Strategy Team has been established to bring an external, forward looking perspective to our future business planning activity- The team is primarily responsible for: Developing Strategic Options for RBS International by understanding and interpreting insights and intelligence relevant to our business, and using this to develop potential projects and initiatives for the Executive to review as part of RBS International's strategic planning process- Making RBS International easy to do business with by reviewing and refining key processes, to ensure they are entirely focussed on our customers' needs- Maximising the benefits of Group-led change for RBS International by understanding the offshore impact of RBS Group change initiatives, and ensuring that RBS International is in scope for any Group projects affecting our businesses- The Strategic Options Analyst primarily supports the Strategy Team's RBS Group Strategic Business Partner in ensuring that RBS International (RBSI) is fully aware of Group led change projects and initiatives, and that we are in scope where appropriate- Also key to the role is the provision of research and analysis to support the development of potential new strategic projects and initiatives (strategic options) for RBSI- The role holder will work with the Strategy Team to articulate new opportunities in the form of business cases that can be objectively assessed and prioritised by the Executive alongside other existing, new and forward-looking projects- Key Responsibilities - Work with the Strategic Business Partner in promoting clear and complete visibility of all Group-led change activity (existing, proposed and potential) for the RBSI Executive-
- Assist in creating and maintaining strong links with Group-based Change and Strategy functions to better understand their future priorities-
- Facilitate cross-divisional forums and discussion within RBSI to ensure that:
- The business is aware of all Group sponsored change affecting it- - The impacts of such changes are fully articulated and understood cross-divisionally within RBSI- -That consensus is reached on any 'opt-in' or 'opt-out' decisions required to adopt Group-led change initiatives- - Facilitate and contribute to the provision of Strategic Options for review by the Executive, in the form of objective business cases which clearly articulate:
- Alignment with Group, Divisional and RBSI strategic objectives- - Impact on RBSI's core financial and non-financial measures- - Consideration of key risks (including impact of doing nothing)- - A standardised, value based investment appraisal to enable objective prioritisation of new projects and initiatives- - Support the Senior Manager, Strategic Planning and the RBSI Executive in developing and the 'Best Bank Offshore' vision and strategy-
- Provide discrete project/initiative support as required by the Strategy & Change Team and the RBSI Executive-
The Individual - The role requires a good understanding of the RBSI business and its position within the RBS Group and the offshore financial services arena-
- The role holder should also have a good understanding of core customer platforms and systems used by RBSI-
- The role holder will be comfortable in communicating with colleagues at all levels across RBSI, its divisional matrix lines and the wider RBS Group-
- Previous experience in a Strategy and/or Project Management related role would be advantageous-
- Good accuracy and attention to detail are considered pre-requisites for the role-
- Flexibility to work on a variety of concurrent projects and, often meeting tight deadlines-
- Good collaboration and facilitation skills, as stakeholder management is an essential component of the role-
