| Job Description |
RBS has a significant presence in all the main financial centres in the Asia Pacific region (Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Australia); and a transactional banking network that spans 11 countries- Purpose of the Role To support the Repo and Assets Liabilities Management systems in Asia- This role will be for a regional senior developer / support analyst of the core suite of applications used by the Front and Middle office in STMF Repo- The Anvil and ALM systems are strategic applications used in Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Korea with multiple interfaces into global systems- The plan is to expand further into the emerging markets to achieve full coverage across the region-
Responsibilities
Activities - Lead a team in building and maintaining existing regional infrastructure- Daily tasks will involve:
- Supporting core applications Anvil / Orbit / ALM across multiple regions and timezones
- Maintaining and supporting multiple data interfaces across multiple platforms, both locally, regionally and globally
- Facing off to stakeholders to collect business requirements and lead a small team of support analysts to deliver bug-fixes, feeds and reports-
- Development work will involve Linux-based technologies, Oracle and Sybase, programming in C#, C++ and JAVA-
- Support framework is defined as partnership with both London development and production support teams-
- Understanding of the business to interface with the key stakeholders and create a consistent requirement gathering and quality assurance framework-
Key Deliverables - Aim is for the stakeholders to be able to continue trading with minimal production issues and to have a quick turnaround to requests raised due to new market conditions and business models-
- Regional FO/MO satisfaction dependent upon the reliability of the systems and interfaces-
Scope of Role - The role definition falls 100% within the core scope of the STMF Repo/MM/ALM business unit-
People Management - Manage a team of support analysts across the APAC region to maintain the current system-
- Implement a consistent and stable framework for QA and production support framework across the region
- Liase with London and other APAC teams to facilitate problem solving and solution implementation-
- Represent the APAC region in the global production support arena to ensure regional concerns are understood and prioritised-
Requirements
- Strong Technical knowledge with hands on development capability-
- Experience facing off to the business to support applications, obtain clear business requirements and priorities
- 9-10 years working experience within Banking industry
- Development competency in C++, JAVA, C#, Linux
- Experience in Sybase and reporting tools and engines
