Job Description · Provide competitive advantage through leadership in Group-wide purchasing and supply chain activities in the areas of Debt, Credit Referencing, Telephony, POS and Payment Schemes across all Business Divisions and geographies (~£150m spend p- a)- · Define the strategy and deliver business plans to ensure that all external expenditure within remit is managed to maximise value for the Group and support all business-critical supply chain projects to deliver on time- · Define and deliver continuous supply chain improvement for Group Sourcing & Vendor Management, their Business Partners and suppliers - including strategic management of all continuous improvement activities within the unit- · Lead Group Sourcing & Vendor Management's global relationships with relevant key stakeholders- Requirements Purchasing Processes, Spend, Benefits & Risk · Create strategies to deliver sourcing benefits on Debt, Credit Referencing, Telephony, POS and Payment Schemes annual spend ~£155m and revenue ~ £200m- · Provide supply chain leadership and commercial management for agreed global sourcing categories- · Minimise commercial and legal risk across all areas within remit- · Maximise the Category/Regional contribution to the eSourcing programme- · Working with Group Purchasing Infrastructure, lead and drive activities to maximise adoption and compliance to the Group's approved Purchase to Pay channels and processes for all spend areas within remit- · Manage supply chain risk, in particular for business critical services- Strategy & Supply Chain Development · Lead the development and management of global sourcing strategies for all sourcing groups within remit- · Lead activities to ensure that supply chain revenue generating opportunities are maximised - own the end to end sourcing delivery of transformation projects- · Provide leadership in the development of supply chain improvement strategies for the RBS group, globally- · For Debt, Credit Referencing, Telephony, POS and Payment Schemes spend categories, lead the integration of new acquisitions into existing commercial arrangements to provide seamless transition into Group operating model and contracts- Process & Outsourcing · Develop and implement outsourcing supply chain strategies, methodologies and management processes- · Actively review, articulate and deliver, on an ongoing basis, opportunities for outsourcing or in-sourcing core processes- Relationship & Supplier Management · Oversee the delivery of Supplier Management activities working closely with Supplier Improvement teams to deliver measurable ongoing benefits (post contract award) to drive compliance to contract- · Manage Group Purchasing's relationship with all areas within remit at a director level to ensure the value of all supply chain services and opportunities is maximised- · Build excellent customer relationships with internal business partners at Executive level- · Lead and provide senior sponsorship of ongoing programme of key supplier management, including the delivery of measurable benefits, across all areas within remit - · Provide enhanced supplier management of key strategic suppliers at CEO/Board level- ('Key strategic suppliers' deliver business-critical processes to one or more Group divisions- Provide market leading commercial and service propositions to internal business partners and key suppliers- Responsibilities People Management: · Line management of 2-3 purchasing professionals will be required- Must have the ability to lead, manage and develop individuals, often without direct line management authority- · Be able to set key deliverables and objectives for key reports and provide coaching and development opportunities The Individual · Significant sourcing/commercial experience, alongside relevant managerial experience- · Proven track record in people management, strategy development, project delivery and stakeholder management- · Graduate level education- Post-graduate or relevant professional qualifications an advantage- · Track record of engagement and influencing internally and externally at senior levels- · Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills- · Ability to drive change, lead multi-functional project teams and to develop creative and innovative solutions for complex requirements- · Track record of large-scale project and programme delivery within agreed timescales- · Ability to develop strong and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at a senior level- · Understanding of the latest industry developments in purchasing, supply chain and outsourcing- Ability to match relevant elements to RBS Group current and future requirements within the scope of the role- Additional Website Text
