| Job Description |
Sourcing Group Manager Group Sourcing & Vendor Management (GS&VM) has an enormous impact on the Group, including a tangible impact on the cost-income ratio- Working with our business partners in all divisions, we select, manage and develop the supply base to ensure that the current and future purchasing needs of the entire Group are delivered, irrespective of location or brand- We provide support, guidance and advice to all divisions on all purchasing related matters and deliver value and commercial benefit to our partners and our customers through innovative sourcing and supplier management- Our team deploys a professional approach and a range of techniques from Strategic Commodity Reviews to Supplier Performance Assessment to eSourcing (auctioning) in order to maximise supplier performance and leverage the full scope and scale of the Group's operations- Corporate responsibility, regulatory and business continuity objectives are integral to our approach- This role will be based in the HR team in Group Sourcing and Vendor Management focussing on our suppliers and supplier strategy- Responsibilities - Development and promotion of purchasing best practice and values
- Line-management and/or utilisation of resources impacting own area of responsibility
- Develop effective relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders,
- Lead/manage project management or business teams of up to 5 people
- Set key deliverables and objectives for direct reports; provide coaching/development opportunities
- Actively contribute to successful operation of the sourcing network
- Work within the construct of RBS sourcing Group Policies and ensure Business Unit adoption
- Work within the construct of Purchasing Systems and ensure Business Unit adoption
The Individual Experience · Significant relevant purchasing and/or relevant resourcing/recruitment sourcing experience- · Proven track record in project management and delivery- · Significant experience of influencing internally and externally at all levels- Technical Knowledge · Purchasing Skills & Techniques · Costs, Prices, Savings & Business Financial Management · Commodity / Market Knowledge · Project Management · Purchasing Negotiation · Supply Base Management · Supplier Management & Development · Contract Management · Contract Law & Legal Issues People Management · Will be required to lead, manage, motivate and co-ordinate cross-functional teams, often with no direct authority over a significant number of the key stakeholders and team members- · May have line management responsibility within the Research Learning Development & HR team (in conjunction with the Head of RLD&HR Sourcing) Additional Website Text This is a secondment or fixed term contract opportunity for 6 months-
