Job Description Purpose of the role An experienced purchasing practitioner providing advice and guidance across the Group globally- Providing input to own area/business plan/objectives and managing delivery of key objectives- Developing strategies, policies or procedures which impact Group-wide; involvement in high level analysis and decision making; utilisation of resources impacting own area of responsibility and discrete parts of the Businesses/Functions; project management; relationship management internally and externally- Typically this role is responsible for contract negotiation and management as part of an end to end business process- The incumbents are highly skilled purchasing professionals who specialise in the specific procurement fields, and are responsible for the key and strategic contracts and suppliers for the organisation- In addition to being purchasing and/or construction professionals, these managers will have a good understanding of the dynamics and goals of the business unit and product/process to which they are assigned and can translate this into the necessary effort to ensure Group Sourcing & Vendor Management support the delivery of business unit objectives- Deliverables - Ensure understanding of Purchasing principles of policies; knowledge of the purchasing specialism
- Key accountability for sourcing processes and contracts, managed in a cost effective manner
- Identification of most appropriate sourcing contract for the client; Help, develop/promote purchasing best practice
- Deliver project requirements in the context of purchasing principles
- Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders, in order to determine customer needs
- Lead/manage project management or business teams of up to 5 people Set key deliverables and objectives for direct reports; provide coaching/development opportunities

The Individual - Extensive r elevant Purchasing experience, and strong commercial and general business experience;
- Relevant professional/technical qualification and graduate calibre;
- Experience of Construction Capital Works projects / programmes and working as part of an outsourced design and construction team
Working knowledge of Construction Consultancy appointments e-g- Project Managers, Architects, M&E Engineers etc - Working knowledge of Contractor procurement options to support Project Delivery team w hen appropriate
- Ability to work under pressure with efficiency and accuracy;
- Ability to plan and prioritise workload;
- Ability to lead the procurement debate with an external design team
- Ability to develop strong and effective working relationship with internal business partners & stakeholders Creative thinker with ability to find innovative solutions
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
People: Senior Individual Contributor responsible for a specific procurement area- In addition, this role may lead/manage a particular procurement project or business team Financial Management: Contract and Financial signing authority in line with published DLAs - Team Structure and Reporting Line - This role will report to the Head of Construction Consultancy who is one of 3 team leads reporting to the Head of Property Sourcing-
