Job Description Purpose of the role - This commercially experienced individual will provide a high level of supplier and internal quality assurance, working with the Business Units, Contract Management and Group Sourcing and Vendor Management in providing an independent assessment of Supply Chain compliance with current internal / external regulation-
- The role will focus on performing a cycle of both planned and reactive reviews to understand the existing level of compliance within the Supply Chain; subsequently seek to improve levels to stated regulatory / legislative levels, as well as look to develop broad levels of excellence-
- The individual will take responsibility for the specific elements of planning, fieldwork, and reporting stages of this key review activity to raise the bar and maintain the profile of the controlled environment with 3 rd party suppliers and internally within the organisation-
- The individual will also be responsible for the timely delivery of SCR related projects as and when required-
- Ongoing review and development of key modules to ensure that the focus areas are current, valid and keep pace with changes in RBS policy and procedure, risk profiles and regulatory and legislative changes-
Deliverables Deliverables: · Develop open relationships with key stakeholders (internal & external) to add value and enhance the reputation of the SCC team and Group Sourcing and Vendor Management- · Maintain responsibility for undertaking supplier site reviews to rigorous internal standards, reporting results accurately timely and appropriately- · Maintain responsibility for undertaking internal contract management and general supply chain compliance reviews to rigorous internal standards, reporting results accurately timely and appropriately- · Produce a summary report of review findings for each review, identifying results and highlighting any issues /areas of concern requiring action- · Liaise with internal stakeholders to discuss findings and agree suitable and specific recommendations for inclusion into Supplier Improvement Plans- · Cohesively and continuously develop areas of control to allow clear understanding of review requirements and ease of use- Ensure high level of knowledge is maintained in all areas- · Undertake targeted and focused training both internally and with suppliers to ensure full understanding of responsibilities to achieve compliance to standards · Identify and manage resolution of key findings- Maintain clear, high quality files which support the above deliverables and adhere to set quality assurance standards- · Report regularly on the result of these assessments and actively influence the continuous development of risk management and control process through innovation sharing- The Individual Experience: · Purchasing and/or relevant commercial experience- · Graduate level education- · Demonstrable experience of influencing internally and externally at all levels- Other Significant Role Requirements: Travel - this role requires significant scheduled and ad-hoc travel to supplier sites Comfortable working independently as part of a roaming team Must develop strong and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders- Will be required to sell benefits of SCC with key stakeholders to build support and ensure buy-in- Understanding sourcing and supplier management issues, with the ability to identify, evaluate and resolve any relevant risks by applying an analytical, fact-based approach- Sound presenter, facilitator and negotiator with the ability to engage and gain support throughout RBS- Ability to prioritise workload and allocate time effectively- Focused and methodical approach to ensure on-time delivery of initiatives Technical Knowledge: Conversant with: · World class sourcing tools and techniques- · Group Purchasing processes (e-g- Strategic Sourcing Approach)- · Contract Management · Highly PC literate- People Management: · Will be required to lead, manage, motivate and co-ordinate cross-functional teams, often with no direct authority over a significant number of the key stakeholders and team members-
