Job Description The role holder will support the global technical monitoring capability within Information Security- They will work with the Information Security Technical Monitoring team in reviewing and analysing results of technical security monitoring and in producing informative and meaningful reports-
Requirements Skills
Some experience of performing technical monitoring
General Information Security experience
Working with a broad range of business units across RBS or other Global organisations
Working towards industry relevant qualification
Working knowledge of Internet/Web Security technologies, in particular, Operating systems (host and off host), databases, network security, IDS and IPS, messaging
Responsibilities
Work closely with Technology Service Providers and business Information Security partners to understand key threats and possible monitoring requirements
Analyse and report technical monitoring results
Identify and escalate as appropriate significant and major security breaches and vulnerabilty
Production of management information that clearly explain security breaches, including key risks and issues
Undertake research and assist with implementation of new techniques and technologies as appropriate
Track to resolution identified issues with regards to major and significant security breaches
