Background The role is to provide technical leadership, direction and management of the actuarial Modelling landscape (Platforms/Process/Models/Data) for the duration of the Life Finance Transformation (LFT) Programme and post the completion of the Project deliverables in BAU . To act as the subject matter expert for the business on the use, development & methodologies to be adopted for all actuarial projection tools used for the production of key financial risk metrics & to lead group best practice in this area The role Strategic Vision To define and deliver Actuarial Modelling Strategy to meet internal and external requirements e.g. Solvency II Actuarial Modelling Expertise Provide technical/non technical advice and support to senior management and colleagues within own areas of expertise Project lead Identify business opportunities for Actuarial intervention, challenge and support to add value and ensure that decisions are soundly based Lead large actuarial projects from planning and resourcing through to implementation Lead the team To develop the technical skills and competencies of the team Operational Risk Ensure all models and processes are compliant with regulations e.g. Sox and company procedures e.g. business critical EUC policy at all times Communicate to senior management and rectify operational risk issues within agreed timescales Treating Customers Fairly Ensure all team members are aware of the 6 TCF outcomes Skills, knowledge and behaviour - Qualifed FIA or FFA Actuary
- T ypically will have extensiveInsurance and Corporate & Actuarial knowledge
- Substantial experience of Modelling Software (e.g. MoSes, Prophet, VIPitech) and it's use in the calculation of existing and future financial metrics
- Understanding of the requirements of actuarial models and the infrastructure they run on
- Good project management skills
- Relationship management skills - ability to manage key relationships and act independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to interact with Executives and Senior Management
- Ability to communicate technical content clearly (to all levels)
- Strong Influencing and communication skills - influencing non-Finance managers and Executives
