Job Description
The purpose of the role is to provide strategic and operational responsibility for Corporate Insurance as the accountable Senior Manager and Subject Matter Expert (SME)- To provide a full Corporate Insurance and risk management advisory service to RBS Insurance and its business units and functions- To utilise insurance and risk management expertise to assist in the identification, assessment and financing of operational risks, recommending both traditional risk financing solutions and investigating alternatives- To promote good risk Management practices and keep premium levels to the minimum without adversely increasing RBS Insurance's exposure to loss- To advise RBS Insurance businesses on the degree of cover required and suitable insurers- To handle complex and difficult insurance claims including uninsured losses-
Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining a corporate insurance and risk management advisory relationship for all RBS Insurance business units and support functions-
- Assessing the insurance requirements of these businesses and placing appropriate covers at competitive premiums-
- Formulating and implementing Corporate Insurance policy, processes and procedures for RBS Insurance, ensuring adherence to regulatory and legislative requirements-
- Assessing all new products/services, including advising on operational risks that arise and appropriate insurance cover to deal with these risks-
- Negotiating premium rating levels for insurances and recommending loss prevention measures where these are warranted by claims experience and/or other factors-
- Liaising with the Manager of RBS Insurance's captive insurance company regarding underwriting and claims-
- Liaising with RBS Insurance's broker(s) on a daily basis and maintaining the business relationship(s) amongst other matters including key industry and market developments-
- Advising RBS Insurance on contractural matters, particularly in relation to complex liability, indemnity and insurance issues-
