Our commitment to trading in local markets continues with the launch of a new Branch in Maidstone which will give us the opportunity to profitably grow our business in this traditionally strong regional market. A project to launch this new Branch is well underway and we are now seeking two highly motivated and target driven Senior Commercial Underwriters to join a fully empowered and technically excellent team. This is your opportunity to make your mark on a new venture within the world's number 1 insurer! You will play a key role in the success of this new Branch by proactively building relationships with a select panel of brokers in the South East and underwriting new business profitably, accurately and consistently in line with established underwriting practice. The role Your key tasks will be to; - Underwrite new business profitably, accurately, consistently and in line with established underwriting practice, FSA compliance and customer requirements at and away from the base location.
- Proactively develop and maintain business relationships with intermediaries to actively encourage generation of profitable commercial business.
- Assist in Financial and Business planning by underwriting analysis and forecasting and action planning to achieve Area KPI's. Focus on knowing the performance of panel and communicate to management to enable contributions to panel review debates.
- Proactively develop a prospect list of appropriate new business opportunities and ensure that pipeline is managed and followed through
- Liaising with Regional team and other internal stakeholders as appropriate to ensure that broker targets are achieved
- Produce timely and accurate documentation.
- Assist in delivering underwriting coaching sessions to external customers as appropriate with feedback
- Promoting AXA and its products in support of company strategy
- Effective communication of AXA's strategy, product range and key differentiators
- Provide a reference point and training for technical underwriting and product knowledge within the branch.
- Assist and coach colleagues with technical and procedural aspects of underwriting, as required.
- Be responsible for underwriting control, compliance and audit.
- Supply underwriting support to Account Managers as required.
- Respond to customers requests for information.
