Job Description Financial Planning provides an advised, needs based service which offers customers access to life, pension, savings and investment solutions- The successful individual will assist with the statutory and management reporting for the business, including budgeting and expense management- In addition to monitoring the financial control environment, the individual will also act as an external representative for the business with Third Party Suppliers and will work closely with internal and external auditors- Requirements Required Experience: - Track record of successfully delivering financial reporting, financial planning, and year-end projects
- Experience of directly supporting the decisions of senior management and in taking decisions at appropriate levels
- Due to the Financial Services aspects of the role, relevant experience gained within a UK Financial Services reporting environment
- Experience of reporting within audit environment would be beneficial
- Experience of outsourcing / relationship management would be beneficial
Responsibilities - To support the Senior Financial Reporting Manager
- To successfully manage the processes which underpin the delivery of the following:
- The monthly financial reporting and forecasting of Financial Planning results (Embedded Value and IFRS)
- Financial Control within Financial Planning including balance sheet controls and Sarbanes Oxley sign off
- Management of process improvements and technical developments in the above reporting
- Management of remote teams in the delivery of the above
- To support the half year and full year external Group reporting process
- To support the decision making process through provision of analysis and forecasting information
- Monitoring outsourced business:
- Formalised and regular monitoring of the finance activity at outsourced parties
- Driving for improvement in service delivery
- Relationship management / representing RBS in those relationships
- Continual liaison with senior finance and actuarial staff (and their teams) at the outsourced parties
- Managing financial aspects of projects impacting delivery, from the numerous external Third Party Suppliers
The Individual Technical Knowledge: - Q ualified Accountant with reporting experience
- Expert in standard Microsoft packages eg Excel, Word, Powerpoint
- Strong knowledge of regulatory returns
- Knowledge of COGNOS reporting systems would be beneficial
