Job Description · To devise and implement a communications strategy for Direct Line/Churchill product areas · To deliver an excellent media relations service for Direct Line/Churchill product areas and to work in collaboration with the proactive business and marketing teams to develop and deliver PR campaigns to support business activities and initiatives- Responsibilities · Provide communications counsel to the business · Develop a proactive media plan with regular news flow · Prioritise media contact programme to deliver successful campaigns · Establish strong internal network across RBS Insurance · Effectively manage a PR agency where appropriate · Ensure compliance with policy and advise the business on any communications issues · Development of authoritative 'lines to take' on industry or product issues · Increased positivity on an annual basis in MORI PFJ survey · Regular f2f meetings with target media that result in coverage being achieved on chosen topics · Broad working knowledge (deployed with media) of the products and services offered by the brand(s) for which the individual is responsible The Individual · A thorough knowledge of the communications landscape · Proven track record as company spokesperson · Excellent written and communication skills - the ability to assimilate complex business messages and briefs and produce clear, concise materials · Agency management experience · Results and delivery oriented - willing to set high targets for individual performance and results · Knowledge and ability to manage broad range of media · Strong interpersonal skills · Ability to quickly understand and advise on complex business issues and a good instinct for what might become a media issue · Considerable experience in communication with significant experience in communications role in or significant experience as a journalist · Evidence of ability to operate as a strong team player · Crisis issues management experience · Developing communications strategies in complex organisations
