Job Description

RBS Insurance division is due to be divested from RBS Group by end 2013- To support this, HR are underway with a transformation journey to take us to a stand alone HR function by June 2012-

This vacancy is one of a number of exciting new roles recently created as part of our journey towards stand alone and we are looking to recruit high calibre individuals with a drive for change- If you would like to be part of this exciting and challenging journey within Insurance HR then please see the vacancy details below-

This new role represents a terrific opportunity for those that would relish the chance to help work within a new Insurance HR function and really support the Insurance business going forward through this period of change-

Undertake high quality and proactive PA/secretarial and administrative duties to support the Director of People Services- Managing time to maximise productivity and effectiveness, whilst enabling the director to focus on key priorities-

Requirements

  • Relevant previous experience within a similar role
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, delivery focused environment 
  • Demonstrate discretion with confidential information
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to use initiative, role requires flexibility and re-prioritisation at short notice 
  • Good written and spoken communications skills 
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail 
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
  • Take full responsibility for one's own actions
  • Ability to regularly work unsupervised and virtually
  • Flexibility to travel to different locations


Responsibilities

Proactive diary management, incorporate times for meeting preparation, thinking time and e-mail management 

  • Management of pre and post meeting activity e-g- agendas and minutes
  • Preparation of papers/presentations/packs
  • Secretariat minute taking
  • Processing expenses
  • Travel management
  • Manage IT/new equipment requests
  • Book meeting rooms, catering etc
  •   Create an effective and efficient filing system
  •   Build a network with EAs and PAs across the business and HR, ensuring best practice and consistency in the function- 
  •   Carry out activities relating to ad-hoc and specific projects/assignments-  


    The Individual

    You will require an excellent working knowledge of:

    • Word
    • PowerPoint
    • Excel
    • Outlook

    And be an enthusiastic self starter with the ability to work under pressure in an ever changing environment-


      Additional Information
      A competitive salary and benefits package with 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays)

      PA to the Director of People Services (1 year Fixed Term Contract)

      £17,500 - £24,000 plus benefits, depending on experience, Glasgow
