Job Description An experienced purchasing practitioner providing advice and guidance across the Group globally- Providing input to own area/business plan/objectives and managing delivery of key objectives- Developing strategies, policies or procedures which impact Group-wide; involvement in high level opportunity identification, analysis and decision making; utilisation of resources impacting own area of responsibility and discrete parts of the Businesses/Functions; project management; relationship management internally and externally- Scope of Role: Typically, this role is responsible for opportunity identification, strategic options analysis; stakeholder engagement and management, and commercial contract negotiation as part of an end to end business process- In addition to being purchasing professionals, these managers will have a good understanding of the dynamics and goals of the business unit and product/process to which they are assigned and can translate this into the necessary effort to ensure Group Sourcing and Vendor Management support the delivery of business unit objectives- Requirements Deliverables: - Opportunity identification - Options analysis - Stakeholder engagement & management - Ensure understanding of Purchasing principles of policies; knowledge of the purchasing specialism - Key accountability for sourcing processes and contracts, managed in a cost effective manner - Identification of most appropriate sourcing contract for the client; Help develop/promote purchasing best practice - Deliver project requirements in the context of purchasing principles - Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders, in order to determine customer needs - Lead/manage project management or business teams of up to 5 people_ Lead virtual business teams including external advisors to support the end to end Procurement process Responsibilities The Individual Experience: _ Extensive r elevant Purchasing experience, and strong commercial and general business experience; _ Relevant professional/technical qualification and graduate calibre; _ Experience of major change projects _ Experience of outsourcing & offshore purchasing activity _Strategic vendor management and development _Possible consultancy experience Other Significant Role Requirements: _ Ability to work under pressure with efficiency and accuracy; _ Ability to plan and prioritise workload; _ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office _Ability to develop powerful, compelling powerpoint/proposal slides Technical Knowledge: Commodity / Market Knowledge Level 3 Contract Law & Legal Issues Level 3 Contract Management Level 3 Costs, Prices, Savings & Business Financial Mgt Level 3 Project Management Level 2 Purchasing Negotiation Level 3 Purchasing Skills & Techniques Level 3 Supplier Management & Development Level 2 Supply Base Management Level 3
