| Job Description |
Job Description Public Relations is all about managing reputation - the result of what you do, what you say and what others say about you. It is about earning understanding and support and helping to influence opinion and, hopefully, for AXA Wealth, buying behaviour. Of course, most of our competitors are trying to do this as well. The role of PR is to build AXA Wealth's reputation through creative, proactive communications, both externally and internally that help to build and create a positive and distinct brand in the marketplace. AXA Wealth understands the importance of good communications, with both its employees, and also with other stakeholder groups like the news media. We are currently looking to recruit a Media Relations Assistant to join our busy PR team. You will be supporting the PR and communications department, helping the team to achieve its short and long term objectives. The role - Produce daily press summary for distribution to staff each morning before 10am
- Update press cuttings onto intranet system
- Produce summary of weekend and midweek financial news for circulation to staff
- Coordinate monthly evaluation of PR coverage for senior management meetings
- Maintaining logs on the following:
- Media coverage
- News releases
- Press articles
- Media complaints
- Positioning statements
- Press days
- Draft press releases
- Update AXA UK extranet with relevant Wealth Management activity
- 'Own' and update departmental activity schedule
- Liaising with journalists and business spokespeople to coordinate press days
- Assist with press day briefing notes
- Assist with researching and booking journalist hospitality events
- Assist with researching and booking speaking opportunities
- Carry out research for department as required
- Other ad hoc duties
Skills, knowledge and behaviour - Ideally a graduate (or equivalent) with an interest in public relations
- Clear, concise inter-personal skills with the confidence to liaise at a senior level and build strong relationships, both internally and externally
- Excellent written skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, pressurised environment with tight deadlines
- Strong administrative skills and able to prioritise tasks effectively and efficiently
- Can-do attitude with the mindset to 'muck-in' and support the team.
