This is an excellent time to join the group as we build our way back to stand alone strength, as we continue our journey to becoming the UK's most Helpful and Sustainable bank- Most of all it is a fantastic opportunity to develop your finance career- The UK Retail Finance function is a key support function within the Retail, Wealth and Ulster Division- The primary purpose of UK Retail Finance is to apply specialist skills, knowledge and expertise to support the vision "to change the face of banking"- In this role, you will be required to enhance shareholder value through the influence of business strategies using improved profitability measures- Responsibilities Influence customer, product and channel strategies to enhance sustainable shareholder value through: - Provision of a consultancy service to the wider business and Finance on the use of Customer Value data to improve decision making-
- Independent oversight and review of uses of the Customer Value model and its outputs- Pro active challenge where appropriate-
- Collaboration across the business to interrogate and distil Customer Value data to focus on the critical opportunities-
- Pro active recommendation of actionable opportunities-
- Evaluation of initiatives to ensure key learnings are considered in future decision making-
- Manage a robust process to reconcile customer value measures to P&L and to drive specific projects to improve the accuracy and relevance of Customer Value data so that it is aligned with strategic priorities of the business-
- Support the data requirement for the design, development and implementation of the Customer Value model under Data Transformation Programme-
- Educate the wider Finance and business community on the understanding and use of Customer Value measures-
- Own the development and on-going refinement of cost input to the Customer Value model to deliver product, customer, channel and transaction views-
The Individual Technical skills: - Qualified accountant preferred
- Strong accounting and commercial background
- Well developed analytical and interpretative skills
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
Other Significant role requirements: - Commercial commercial outlook, including the ability to interpret complicated model outputs and making the numbers understandable and actionable for the business
- Ability to think broadly e-g- appreciation of risks across functional boundaries-
- Finance background and advanced spreadsheet skills
- Cashflow modelling skills (e-g- NPV), building and maintaining models (desirable)
- Experience of use of customer segmentation (or cohort analysis) when forecasting to capture changes in portfolio through time (desirable)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong team player
