Job Description The Lean Sustainability Consultant will play a key role in sustaining a culture of continuous improvement and Lean thinking within the business- This role will deliver and coach our business to continue to understand its customers needs, strive to exceed them, drive out waste, improve efficiency and give staff the support they need to complete their roles to the highest standard- This position is a 11 month Fixed Term Contract or 11 month Secondment opportunity The successful candidate will provide Lean expertise and build capability within the business to ensure the holistic RBS Lean approach continues to be applied, with sustainable improvements in the 5 key lenses: - Voice of Customer

A key deliverable of this role is the transfer of knowledge and capability to staff and management, ensuring the business are able to continue their Lean transformation- This includes ensuring required skill levels/capabilities across all levels and roles are maintained in light of staff turnover and continue to be enhanced- Requirements The Lean Sustainability Consultant role will be primarily engaged with the following activities: - Work in conjunction with the Lean Capability Manager and Centre Manager to influence, develop and implement the tactical and strategic Lean activities on a day to day basis
- Drive delivery of a pipeline of improvement activity through the centre management teams
- Support the Centre with achievement of their overall CI measures and targets
- Assist collation and sharing of best practice across Centres, and different operational sites
- Work in conjunction with the Central Lean Sustainability Team, towards agreed objectives, to maintain Lean methods via process confirmation, training and coaching
- Coach and build Lean capability within Team Managers and Customer Service Managers, to increase their understanding and practical application of Lean Performance Management and ongoing 100 day planning process
- Drive delivery of 100 day plans through centre management teams, providing support, coaching and guidance
- Facilitate and support diagnostics in line with 100 day planning cycle using a five lens based approach within the business
- Facilitate design sessions to develop future state improvements and proposals
- Support the business by building a succession plan for future LSC capability to ensure ongoing sustainability
- Contribute to Lean training programmes and knowledge transfer
- Liaise with other team members to identify and capture and appropriately escalate risks and issues to centre management and Lean management-
