Job Description Through the Strategic Review programme we're driving a new strategy to rebuild RBS group to a position of standalone strength, with Business Services playing a significant role in achieving this goal- Through application of Lean principles, Process Redesign will transform our processes and supporting infrastructure, making them simple, consistent and customer-orientated, right across the organisation- As a result an exciting and challenging new position has arisen for a dynamic, motivated self starter- As a Lean Leader you will have a key role to play within the Process Redesign programme, leading and supporting change across the organisation, which will make a significant contribution to the delivery of both short and long term business goals- The Lean Leader has key responsibility for leading and driving transformational change in large operations, branches or departments, to deliver improved customer experience, productivity & efficiency, staff engagement and risk control- As Lean Leader you will receive significant investment in your personal development, through a comprehensive training and coaching programme supported by an external market leader in Lean transformation- Responsibilities - Plan and lead Lean deployment projects, which focus on improving flow across end to end processes, (within centres, across centres, across businesses and across divisions) through the development of an improvement strategy based on Lean thinking-
- Build Lean Management capability to support deployment and ensure improvements are sustainable, through coaching, training and facilitating interventions with Executives, Centre Managers, Customer Service Managers and project Change Agents-
- Change behaviours at all levels of the organisation through influencing key stakeholders and raising awareness around the development of Lean mental models-
- Provide deep Lean expertise to the organisation as a whole and support the ongoing development of values and principles required to achieve cultural change-
The Individual It is a given that you will have in-depth experience of leading and driving Lean deployment activies in an operations environment- The following experience is also relevant to the role, and would be desirable but is not a pre-requisite: - Operations Management-
- Developing Operations Management Capability-
- Change management and leadership-
- Work-Out-
- Training and coaching at senior management level and above-
- Process re-design and improvement-
Other Significant role requirements: - Strong communication and inter-personal skills-
- The ability to influence and network at senior and middle management levels-
- Demonstrated commitment to personal development-
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise multiple conflicting and frequently changing priorities
- A flexible approach to work with the ability to accept and champion change-
- Ability to be peripatetic and support waves of change activity across the UK , often being away from home up to 4 nights per week for extended periods-
