| Job Description |
Background We require an experienced IT Business Analyst to join a small team of analysts working for our Multi Management company, Architas, based in our Old Broad Street offices in the City of London. You will have worked in an Investment environment previously, either for an Asset/Investment/Multi- Management company or part of an IT team supporting an Investment arm/broker/consultancy with a focus on the front office. In this role, you will required to carry-out high level impact assessments across systems on the transfer of business: transfer and set up of new systems, migrating data, setting up new products. However, in addition to this they must be able to monitor front office activities. You will need to have a flexible approach to working and be able to "roll up your sleaves" and "muck-in" as and when required. You will lead and co-ordinate impact assessments, requirements definition and functional design across systems to ensure a complete and coherent systems solution. The role Work pro-actively with business/system analysts, suppliers and subject matter experts to lead/co-ordinate: · Provision of IT consultancy · High level impact assessments across systems based on high level scope / business requirements · Shaping, prioritisation and phasing of business requirements to provide best fit with system(s) functionality and delivery capability · Production of detailed requirements and functional design to ensure completeness and coherence as the development progresses to meet business requirements and to fit with high level design · Review/sign off of testing strategies, plans, criteria and results to ensure delivery to business requirements and customer satisfaction Work pro-actively to support: · Production of business requirements by consultation and review, to ensure common understanding and quality of deliverables · Change management processes by co-ordination of systems requirements/functional design and impact assessment for change requests · Cost/benefit realisation by monitoring likely cost changes as work progresses through the life-cycle and flagging with project management as appropriate · Work with other analysts, technical consultants and programme managers to identify and progress any synergies across projects, programmes or releases · Act as an interface between the business and IT project team throughout the life cycle · Coach and mentor less experienced colleagues, providing advice and guidance to support their continuing personal and professional development · Continuously review experience to capture the learning and make recommendations for improvements in IS processes Skills, knowledge and behaviour We require : · Previous IT experience and previous relevant business analysis experience supported by ISEB qualification or IT related degree · Ability to work at a conceptual level where business objectives & requirements may not be well defined · Thorough knowledge of development lifecycles and strong experience of initial stages of lifecycles (e.g. concept scopes and high level requirements) · Good knowledge of relevant business practices, approaches and processes · Ability to demonstrate strong customer focus and communicate in business language · Experience of working with business customers and technical delivery resources (including 3rd party suppliers) · Strong facilitation, communication, listening, coaching and presentation skills · Commercially aware and able to work with suppliers and business partners · Ability to co-ordinate and evaluate work estimates · Good decision making skills · Versatility and flexibility · Ability to monitor progress against project plans · A very good knowledge of organisation/process/systems for asset management firms across business activities with a specific focus on Front Office. We would also like : · Good understanding of the functionality of leading application technology packages, preferably in the financial services industry: product engines, customer relationship management, financial and commission management, data warehousing, image & workflow · Broad knowledge of AXA's application architecture · Awareness of AXA security policy and security issues · Exposure to financial services products, regulatory framework (FSA etc), products & processes · Previous experience of working front office in areas such as portfolio compliance monitoring, investment management decision support and analytics. · Experience working with Front Office market data systems e.g. Bloomberg, Lipper, Style Research, Finex · Experience working with portfolio management, order management, trading and decision support systems e.g. Charles River Additional Information Resourcing Partner: Kevin Keegan E-Mail: kevin.keeganaxawinterthur.co.uk
