Job Description
Centralised Pricing is a global, high performance, real-time, pricing and electronic trading system for Interest Rate Swaps, Government and Corporate bonds, Money Markets, FX, Credit Derivatives, Commercial Paper, Loans and Emerging markets- Centralised Pricing has enabled RBS to become a market leader within this eTrading space- A global but London centred team of 80 develops and supports Centralised Pricing- Centralised Pricing is Java server side, C# GUI and Sybase database- Despite complex systems we have a fast turnaround, underpinned by a very strong development team-
Requirements
· Solid understanding of the fundamentals of vanilla Java programming - Multithreading, OO, distributed computing etc- · Java OO server-side development - Not EJB or Web- · Development experience on a large complex codebase · Minimum 2:1 from major university in scientific subject, and minimum BBB A levels- · Application development involving an understanding of the user domain, rather than just implementing technical solutions- · For a permanent developer proven interest in pricing financial products Additional Useful Skills: · Real-time experience · Electronic Trading · Improving development practices for team as a whole · Fixed Income Pricing · C#
Responsibilities
We are looking to hire a high calibre developer, working initially on requirements for the Emerging Markets Rates trading desk- The work we have in this space involves adding new pricing models for existing desks, adding electronic trading capabilities, refactor the existing codebase, performance improvements and automation of support team tasks- We are looking for a candidate with potential to play a major role in the team going forward- There is considerable scope for career development within the Centralised Pricing area-
