Role for a Senior Java developer to work on our high profile front office FX pricing application- Developers will gain full knowledge of the FX spot and forward business for both pricing and electronic trading- The initial role will include some BAU enhancements and 3 rd level support (there is a dedicated 1 st /2 nd level support team)- There is also considerable scope for strategic design and development work on our future state platform as part of the larger FX pricing solution- We are looking at making considerable enhancements in this area in 2010, to align and re-structure systems- Closing Date: 23 rd March 2010
Job Description
Centralised Pricing is a global, high performance, real-time, pricing and electronic trading system for Interest Rate Swaps, Government and Corporate bonds, Money Markets, FX, Credit Derivatives, Commercial Paper, Loans and Emerging markets- Centralised Pricing has enabled RBS to become a market leader within this Electronic Trading space- RBS placed 4 th in the 2009 Euromoney FX poll A global but London centred team of 80 develops and supports Centralised Pricing- Centralised Pricing is Java server side, C# GUI and Sybase database-
Requirements
Solid understanding of the fundamentals of vanilla Java programming - Multithreading, OO, distributed computing etc- Java OO server-side development - Not EJB or Web- Development experience on a large complex codebase- Application development involving an understanding of the user domain, rather than just implementing technical solutions- Real-time experience Proven interest in financial products / markets- Additional Useful Skills: Electronic Trading Improving development practices for team as a whole FX spot and forward pricing or FI pricing C#
Responsibilities
Initial deliveries include improvements to forward pricing which will involve working closely with the traders- Later deliverables will include an integrated global pricing model for all of FX-
