Job Description

This is a role within the Equities Central Pricing Unit taking specific responsibility for Independent Price Verification (IPV), Reserves and control issues impacting the RBS and ABN Amro booked business-

Individuals will be expected to add value to the team early on, developing strong product knowledge quickly through experience within a product control environment with IPV focus- The desk trades in a wide variety of products including structured and flow equity derivatives, fund derivatives and hybrids, meaning the role will guarantee early exposure to a broad product set-

 

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Working at the production level in the completion of core IPV responsibilities including monthly submissions to MarkIt and calculation of P&L revaluations
  • Developing and refining reserve methodologies and calculation of reserves
  • Participating in Finance model approvals, identifying impact of these models on pricing requirements and integrating these requirements into monthly processes
  • Innovation without being afraid to challenge existing practices-
  • Close liaison/involvement with all key functions of the Equities Product   Control team e-g- P&L, Balance Sheet
  • Building strong relationships with all aspects of the business to ensure the team acts in the capacity of business partner

The individual will be required to establish working relationships, at all levels, with front office (trading, sales) and support areas (e-g- IT, Market Risk, Operations, Credit Risk) as well as all other areas within Finance globally, in order to provide an integrated and proactive approach to business development and facilitation-


    Requirements
    Essential Experience:
    • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
    • Strong academic background
    • Demonstrated strong people, process and systems skills and understanding
    • Active appreciation of general Financial Control concepts/requirements
    • Strong PC skills
    Supplementary Experience:

    • W ide rangin g product knowledge across all relevant products, including exotic derivatives and structured transactions
    • An accounting qualification is not essential but desirable
