Expectations have grown significantly among senior Aviva Executives; as they demand more and more ways of sharing information assets within regions and across the group. Regulation such as Solvency II, the prevalence of eCommerce and the use of analytics by organisations such as Tesco, Progressive, P&G to drive business value has placed Enterprise Information Architecture at the heart of our 2010-2012 agenda. We now face an unprecedented need for common, consistent, trustworthy, timely and transparent information assets. Reporting to the Chief Enterprise Architect the role holder is critical in working across Aviva regions to accelerate and drive the Information Architecture. The role holder must bring both broad expertise of Enterprise Architecture and the focus of a recognised expert in Information Architecture. The role requires an individual comfortable with ambiguity, results oriented and able to make progress in a matrix global organisation. ROLE DEFINITION · Act as the thought leader influencing across the group with the skill and experience to provide consulting expertise on priority initiatives ensuring alignment with the vision while delivering business value (P&L). · Create, implement and ensure adherence to processes for Information Life Cycle management and develop Information management strategy and process around data governance, custody, stewardship and security · Create, implement and ensure adherence to appropriate standards, processes and tools to promote and facilitate Information Management · Establish measures to chart progress and proactively monitor, driving continuous improvements. SCOPE: · All Aviva Regions and Business Units CONTEXT: Group IT provides a governance and co-ordinating role across Aviva to ensure the deployment and management of IT capability in line with Aviva strategy. Information IT Architecture is one of the foundational tools required to achieve the agreed goals About The Role KEY OUTPUTS/DELIVERABLES:
1. Internal Consulting to drive Enterprise Information Management Vision and Strategy 2. Enterprise Information Management Roadmap 3. Information Management Standards 4. Specific Information Management Deliverables as required by strategic & priority Initiatives. 5. Strengthen Information Architecture capability REPORTING · Chief Enterprise Architect RELATIONSHIPS: · Enterprise Architecture Board · Senior Business managers · Regional IT Architecture staff · External groups, including technology vendors, consulting/advisory organisations, architecture SIGs and other relevant bodies DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY: · Enterprise Information Management Strategy, Vision, Governance and Architecture. Key Responsibilities QUALIFICATIONS:
· Graduate or equivalent · Professional qualifications or blue chip IT exposure/training SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: · Information Architecture · Business Analytics · Broad understanding of IT service operations and change management · Demonstrably strong cross cultural influencing skills. · Ability to deal with ambiguity · IT project management EXPERIENCE: · Significant professional IT experience including a leadership position · Broad and comprehensive experience of Information Strategy and Delivery in a multinational organisation. · Insurance/Financial Services experience is desirable but not mandatory.
