Provision of health & safety (and if qualified environmental) consultancy and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of business clients and sectors . Effective relationship management of client portfolio through adherence to the consultancy's client contact strategy as well as proactive contact . Identifying and maximising the effectiveness of client referrals in order to promote effective cross selling within the business and beyond . Delivery of a range of health & safety (and environmental if qualified) services including standard packages, client training, advice, bespoke and consultancy services, crisis management and 24/7 telephone advice line
Responsibilities Maintain a strong control culture working with Mentor's risk function-
Ensure adherence to compliance, operational & key control processes, and regulatory requirements for the SHE department, demonstrating fair treatment of customers at all times- Ensure standards for Achieving Control Excellence (ACE) and ICOB are met- Utilise Mentor's tracking systems and other information systems to support proactive contact and to maintain a robust diary system- Ensure adherence to the requirements of the SHE Governance Manual- With the support of the Consultancy Manager, taking ownership of own development in order to facilitate delivery of a robust and dynamic personal development plan-
The Individual - Chartered membership of IOSH essential and ideally diploma level or NVQ4 in Health and Safety
- Identify, understand and help customers by competently and effectively dealing with customers' changing needs when developing new products and services
- Contribute to and support a relationship management strategy to maximise client contact and drive up retention rates
- Be involved in a programme of customer-driven projects that enhance Mentor 's service capability and increase our capacity to service our clients-
- Manage a client portfolio of up to £0-25 million, establishing strong, lasting and profitable relationships with customers across the spectrum of a diverse client portfolio
- Recognising the needs of the customer through the use of skilled probing and professional judgement and providing a commercial, fit for purpose service on all aspects of the customer's health and safety (and environmental) needs
- Proactively maintaining contact throughout the client contact cycle, identifying referral opportunities throughout
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, risks and legalities across the client portfolio, with the ability to quickly identify and absorb those elements in different industry sectors
- Creation and drafting of bespoke policies and procedures across all industry sectors
- Updating customers on significant developments in their industry as and when appropriate
- Provision of health & safety (and environmental where qualified) advice to the highest possible standard to all of Mentor 's clients
