| Job Description |
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Coutts International Private Banking to run an integrated and newly created Shipping Wealth Team between London and Zurich- This role will appeal to ambitious individuals with a passion for their market and a good network of contacts-
Purpose
To lead a new and exciting initiative between two divisions of RBSG, Shipping and Wealth Management, the prime objective being to leverage existing group shipping contacts and networks, and combining this with our Wealth Management expertise and range of financial solutions-
An integrated and newly created team (Shipping Wealth) with a cross-divisional approach will lead this joint approach on behalf of Wealth Management between London and Zurich working closely with RBS Shipping and RBS International- Ambitious but achievable asset and revenue targets will be agreed as part of the appointment-

RBS Group is a leading global shipping bank, top 5 lender in the global ship finance market, #1 in Greek Shipping and #1 in the UK- Wealth Management is represented in key shipping centres (e-g- London, New York, Piraeus, Monaco, Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong) with a clear focus on private owners with family wealth-
The last few years has seen booming shipping markets which has generated surplus cash for owners- Historically, there was a reluctance of ship owners to link private banking to ship lending, but this trend has changed- A key success factor will be introductions from RBS Shipping to their clients and the linkage of shipping business with a Private Wealth relationship- A close co-operation between Shipping and Wealth Management will enable us to combine our Wealth Management brand with the reputation of a leader in Shipping-
Responsibilities
- You will pro-actively develop new and existing business in the Shipping Market, whilst concurrently managing a team of experienced private bankers and shaping the direction of this growth business-
- Deliver exceptional client service and sophisticated financial advice to a portfolio of HNW and UHNW individuals-
- Inspire and lead a multi-functional, culturally diverse team, based in differing jurisdictions-
- Actively participate and contribute to the senior management team-
Skills
- University education, plus ideally professional qualification ie CFA, CFPI, CIIA etc-
- Entrepreneurial drive and vision-
- Clear leadership abilities-
- Excellent communication and proven client management skills-
- Proactive, 'can-do' approach- capable of working with strategic thought and action-
Requirements
- Track record of successful management experience-
- Proven experience of working with HNW and UHNW Shipping clients-
- Ability to work in an entrepreneurial, delivery-focused, driven manner-
- To be able to demonstrate a genuine concern for delivering optimum results and service to clients at all times-
- Have the ability to operate and think independently whilst being a true team player-
- Excellent financial knowledge with the ability to discuss credibly all asset classes and explain complex financial products clearly and transparently to clients-
- Management of team currently experiencing a growth phase-
- Proven experience of working to clearly defined annual revenue targets with the ability to deliver results-
