Job Description Background: The Hub in Poland has been in existence since 2007- There are currently 800 staff employed in Warsaw, supporting mainly UK based Operations and Finance functions- The Finance function consists of 200 staff, of which almost 80 are Trading Business Unit Control (BUC) staff- The BUC function provides support to Trading BUC, Non Core Businesses and EMEA Finance- Key support areas are Daily P&L, IPV, Reserving and Balance Sheet Substantiation for Trading BUC and Decision Support, Capital Reporting for EMEA Finance- General role: This role involves management of the BUC function in Warsaw- As such it will be a key role on the Finance Management Team in the Hub, supporting the overall Hub MT and have a matrix line into the Trading BUC Finance Management team in the UK- Requirements Required experience . Graduate level (with a 1st or 2:1) coupled with strong academic background (or equivalent from outside UK) . Qualified accountant with significant experience within product control . Strong grounding in interest rate and debt market products with knowledge across all markets beneficial . Good appreciation of the Investment Banking business . Good understanding of Finance operations and processes . Good understanding of Risk and Controls . Exceptional and proven leadership skills . Extensive experience of managing and developing people . Experience of matrix management across locations beneficial Supplementary Experience . Self reliance and a self starter . Track record of process improvement Responsibilities Responsibilities Key: . Management of circa 80 staff, with particular focus on individual development and career paths- . Ensuring daily and monthly support is effectively delivered to onshore managers . Providing accurate and timely service whilst ensuring all outputs are validated and delivered in accordance with Master Service Agreements / Service Level Agreements . Development of a sustainable BUC function through constant liaison with Global Managers . Development of the Hub Finance function through active involvement in the Finance MT . Project work covering controls enhancement, efficiency initiatives and strategic developments in order to deliver continuous improvement initiatives . Regular and ad-hoc analysis of aspects of the business both tactical and strategic- . The individual will be required to establish collegiate working relationships, at all levels, with both the local managers and onshore business areas in order to provide an integrated and proactive approach to business development Specific: Communication . Actively communicate with all managers supported by the Hub- . Continuously improve support delivered through extension and improvement of existing services- . Respond to queries in a timely manner .
