Job Description Role Purpose: Works with the Group Sourcing & Vendor Management stakeholders and Group Communications to develop & drive communications activity and ensure timely delivery of communications & events- Support the Head of Performance Improvement and team in meeting short and long term project and performance reporting requirements - within GS&VM and within Business Services/Group- Key Role Deliverables: Deliver Group Purchasing reporting requirements- · Drive and deliver the GS&VM communications strategy and calendar- · Ensure timely delivery of communications and events to both internal (GS&VM Board, GS&VM team) and external audiences (other RBS audiences, external organisations)- · Ensure all GS&VM communications are co-ordinated- · Lead and co-ordinate efforts to fulfil ad-hoc communications needs- · Manage GS&VM Intranet content - working closely with Group Comms Intranet team- · Support GS&VM People Plan with appropriate communications delivery- · Deliver communications material for the Director (e-g- business papers, presentations to the Executive Committee)- · Develop and manage GS&VM projects as required- · Effectively deal with highly confidential projects, activities and correspondence- · Principle point of contact for all internal stakeholders (Business Services and Group Communications) and external stakeholders- · Co-ordinate and compile accurate monthly and annual GS&VM performance reporting requirements, as well as ad-hoc reporting requirements Requirements Experience: · Significant relevant commercial experience- · Graduate level education- Post-graduate or relevant professional qualifications an advantage- · Experience of project management and delivery, with ability to lead projects on behalf of GS&VM- · Effective communication and influencing skills- Other Significant Role Requirements: · Enthusiastic and energetic individual, committed to high levels of productivity- · Strong awareness of business issues- · Ability to work on projects and issues in complete confidence- · Innovative and creative- · Detail conscious, organised, producing high quality and professional work- · Ability to influence and manage relationships with senior staff across the Group · Adaptable and tenacious with the stamina required to follow through and track progress against action plans- Responsibilities Technical Knowledge: · Strong business awareness- · Highly PC literate- Understanding of: · GS&VM function and commercial drivers- · World class sourcing tools and techniques- · Knowledge and information management- · Project and operational management, including financial management- People Management: · Manage virtual project teams as required - globally- · Ability to influence and manage relationships with staff across the Group- Financial Management: · May have responsibility for project budgets-
