Group Portfolio Analysis Manager - Edinburgh
The Royal Bank of Scotland Group has an international presence in banking and the pride we take in pursuing excellence and innovation is matched by the dedication we show to our employees and their development- The Group Portfolio Management team is at the heart of capturing the detail that drives the creation of the Group Change Portfolio and as such is core to the understanding, recording, interpretation and development of the Group's change agenda- With a global remit covering all Divisions, Portfolio Management is uniquely positioned to report, at Executive level, the composition and performance of the Group's Change Portfolio- This role assists in that remit by: · Owning and managing the Group Change Portfolio- · Analysing the Group Change Portfolio · Interpretation and Reporting of the Group Change Portfolio and · Developing and building financial and non-financial scenarios based on the Portfolio
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will: · Manage the consolidation of Divisional portfolios into the Group Change Portfolio with responsibility for the master data set- · Provide the recognised source of base data for reporting of the Group Change Portfolio · Drive the analysis of the Group Change portfolio covering financial modelling, sensitivity & gap analysis against agreed attributes and criteria to drive relevant discussion and meet the requirements of Executive and Senior Management across the Group · Bring innovation and left field thinking to "what if" scenarios to highlight threats and opportunities to financial performance of the Group Change Portfolio · Present X-Divisional analysis of high level dependencies, conflicts and synergies, to ensure issues are identified, escalated and resolved · Use sound knowledge of Group strategy, priorities and links between investment programmes to interpret outcomes attached to the Group Portfolio and enable a balanced Portfolio which meets the strategic, financial and architectural objectives of RBSG · Manage and develop MI tools to collect and consolidate data, analyse, model and scenario plan · Support X-Group analysis to provide options and maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of the portfolio
The Individual
The successful candidate will have: · An ability to work on their own initiative and deliver effective and efficient outputs- · Experience of Business / Change Management / Financial / Strategy areas- · Previous experience of managing large volumes of complex and incomplete data- · Previous experience of obtaining and maintaining stakeholder buy-in, preferably at senior management level- · Strategic level thinking skills with the ability to understand and work with Group level concepts- · Skills at communicating and influencing at senior stakeholder level and a strong attention to detail in numerical and non-numerical data · Some previous high level experience of analytical tools including Data Modelling tools and structured analytical techniques but this not essential With us, hard work adds up to more- Our rewards include a generous salary, the opportunity to participate in bonus schemes and discounted Group products- Plus we offer a 30% benefit funding that gives you the option of choosing your own mix of cash and benefits--- All of which creates a truly flexible benefits package that fits your changing needs and lifestyle-
