Job Description The Business Restructuring Group (BRG), as part of Global Restructuring Group, is primarily responsible for dealing with those Business, Commercial and Corporate customers that fall outside of normal lending criteria- As the foremost business turnaround and restructuring Unit of any UK bank, we take a leading role in the delivery of innovative business and financial solutions to distressed businesses- We have a wider responsibility for managing all Group related exposures which means close liaison with all of the various business partners within the Corporate Banking Division- Opportunities have arisen for a Relationship Manager position in the North East of England Regional Team based in Leeds- This is a demanding role in the current economic climate and the successful candidate will need to be highly self-motivated- Requirements We are currently looking to recruit an individual whose drive, ambition and vision match our own- Relationship Managers will be expected to manage a varied portfolio of Banking & Corporate customers who are in some form of financial difficulty- The BRG environment demands people who thrive in challenging situations and who are prepared to back their own judgement- Responsibilities Relationship Managers (RM's) will be responsible for a portfolio of, primarily, Banking and Corporate customers where there is some degree of distress and where proactive management is required to achieve the optimum result for the Bank- This would normally mean the restoration to health of the business and transfer back to mainstream or alternatively seeking full repayment of our facilities- RM's will be expected to develop the appropriate strategy for the connection to maximise customer retention and to improve the Bank's lending risk profile using the various techniques available to BRG including equity / mezzanine pricing- The Individual The successful RM applicant will be someone who has well developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, has proven lending and relationship management experience, is naturally inquisitive has the self confidence to challenge the status quo, strives to really understand businesses, is able to undertake focused investigations, applies a common-sense approach and understands the relationship between risk and reward
