Job Description
Purpose of the role: ·
This role is responsible for the implementation of development interventions for graduate programmes in specific business divisions of RBS
  • Specific programme design and programme management for the development of Summer and Easter intern programmes 
  • Coordination of rotational graduate programmes, management of line managers and collection of performance management data to support the talent identification process
  • Key focus is to deliver against a consistent pipeline of high calibre, well trained graduates into divisional talent streams


    Responsibilities
    • Ensure the Group's graduate development strategy and governance are implemented across all programmes- 
    • Manage yearly graduate programme planning process and budget 
    • Manage the gathering for programme feedback and graduate Employee Opinion Survey results and action planning 
    • Build effective working relationships with HRBPs and relevant business stakeholders as required to ensure effective handover of graduate talent into RBS businesses; 
    • Act as a source of advice about graduate development for business / division; support businesses in the selection of training suppliers for technical and professional skills training 
    • Collaborate with Graduate Development Manager and other Organisational Effectiveness teams in the creation and implementation of Group graduate development core offering 
    • Manage the graduates taking professional qualifications and build relationships with professional examining bodies 
    • Report on graduate hiring activities and programme performance e-g- retention, progression, achievement levels, diversity etc- in a meaningful manner identifying issue, trends and solutions;
    • Actively seek opportunities to increase our market presence and recruit talent- 
    • Lead and/or be involved in graduate related projects across all programmes- 
    • Coordinate graduate induction, booking venues, managing suppliers and communicating to graduates Internship Programme: 
    • Review and evaluate content and structure of current internship programme, recommending changes where required- 
    • Support the delivery of all elements of the intern programmes (Summer and Easter) Programme management · For rotational programmes, provide support to the Programme Manager in project management of placement rotations- 
    • Line manager briefings · Management of buddy and mentor relationships 
    • Ensure performance management and Talent Watch is implemented effectively across relevant programmes- 
    • Manage end of programme transition to businesses 
    • Management of in-programme Networking events 
    • Contribute to the creation, and enhancements of the core RBS development curriculum in collaboration with Graduate Development technical specialists Implement core development curriculum across all business specific graduate and intern programmes
    • Tailor and add to core development curriculum in collaboration with the Programme Manager and Graduate Development technical specialists
    • Create a graduate development programme that creates a talent pipeline that meets business succession objectives
    • Effective business relationships and expectation management
    • Build excellent graduate development market knowledge
    • May be necessary to manage people in the delivery of your role, depending on team structure
    • Ensure risk management considerations feature in all decision processes
    • Tracking and management of any designated development spend / budget


      The Individual

      Essential Experience:

      • Stakeholder / relationship management evidencing strong interpersonal skills 
      • Project management and a focus on delivery- 
      • Recruitment experience and recruitment process improvement 
      • History of success in creating tailored development solutions to meet business needs 
      • An understanding of Talent management/ Hipo hiring and development Client and relationship management 
      • Development and maintenance of excellent external knowledge / networks 
      • Development knowledge, particularly in Graduate arena, and broad experience of Resourcing and Shared Service models 
      • Demonstrable track record in key stakeholder / relationship management in a complex, matrix business environment 
      • Experience of best practice performance management and talent management models 
      • Written, oral and influencing communication skills
      • Employment law - related to recruitment and resourcing activity 
      • Data Protection Act - working, practical application
      • Budget and risk management experience
      Desirable: (but not essential)
      • Development and talent management experience in financial services 
      • Knowledge of Financial Services Sector 
      • Experience working in-house, managing recruitment in a professional / technical function or sound experience within agency account management
      • Project management experience
      • Flexibility and managing ambiguity 
      • Qualification in Organisational Psychology 
      • Level A/B British Psychological Society (BPS) 
      • Graduate - Honours or equivalent
      • CIPD Qualified
