Purpose of the role: The role of the People Development Manager will be critical to the delivery of Global Finance Services UK's (GFS UK ) vision to be a 1st Choice Employer- This will be achieved through supporting the Head of People Development and Business Support in delivery of the people proposition across multiple locations- The role holder will be responsible for delivering on People workstreams as detailed below to ensure a people culture is established and maintained within GFS UK - The role holder will also play a key role in influencing People strategy across the wider GFS UK and Finance areas- In particular, this role will develop close links and influence consistent People strategy with GFS India- Scope of the role: Reporting to the Head of People Development & Business Support this role will entail: Key Objectives - Work with GFS UK Management Team to determine Future Capability requirements for GFS UK and create plans to address gaps-
- Ensure effective and consistent Induction Programmes in place and adhered to across GFS UK for all new joiners and for first time line managers-
- Work with GFS UK Management Team to develop and implement effective resourcing strategy for the department including provision of appropriate resourcing MI-
- Support delivery of centrally led annual Pay Process
- Support a culture that empowers, inspires and motivates our people to strive for the success of our business
- Improve and maintain Talent and Succession Management across GFS UK
- Lead Your Feedback Survey analysis, action planning and review process on behalf of the department working closely with Your Feedback / Communications representatives from individual GFS UK teams
- Administer the GFS UK Graduate programme working closely with appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
- Own management of the GFS UK People Forum ensuring appropriate agenda items covered and that all key actions are completed by owners-
- Represent GFS UK in Finance Academy to ensure the needs of the team are captured and delivered and that GFS UK People priorities are considered in all Finance Academy programmes-
- Lead Finance Academy Business Champion Forum for GFS UK
- Work closely with Business Support Lead to identify opportunities for and to improve end to end processes / standardised proposition where appropriate-
- Work closely with Communications Manager to drive improvements in Engagement and Communications
- First point of escalation for Training and Development or Professional Qualifications queries
People Management - Responsible for the line management of a small team of Business Support / People Development and Resourcing Analysts
Deliverables: - Strategies/plans developed and agreed with Head of People Development and Business Support and with GFS UK Management Team-
- Effective project planning, implementation and documentation approach in place for all key work to ensure scope agreed and delivery recognised-
- Effective use of People Development and Business Support team resources and other SMEs (e-g- Group Talent/Resourcing team, GFS UK team reps)
- Improved induction for joiners and line managers in GFS UK -
- Improved People Management capability at all levels in GFS UK with RBS people management policy and process in place including full and effective performance management cycle-
- Through Yourfeedback and other surveys identify hotspots, put action plans in place to correct and measure the results
- Talent Management proposition embedded ensuring all staff understand the process and recognise the benefits and that GFS UK are able to contribute to and benefit from the Cross Finance Talent process-
- Finance Academy led role family process fit for purpose and used accordingly
- Evidence of appropriate links to People Development and Management Strategies in GFS India and the wider Finance function-
- People MI available to inform key business decisions and to provide appropriate audit trail to confirm GFS UK adherence to group Policy-
- Effective governance and management of GFS UK Training and Development budget
Requirements Experience: - Proven track record of implementing a people culture
- Good Planning and Organising Skills
- Ability to develop new ideas and drive them forward
- Effective Team working and the ability to build rapport
- Strong working knowledge of the People Management Process
The Individual - Strong interpersonal skills and a clear ability to communicate with and influence stakeholders at all levels including presentations to groups
Technical Knowledge: - Knowledge of Group HR policies in particular, Talent Process, Performance Management, Absence Management & Reaching Performance
People Management: - Line manager responsibility
Financial Management: - Management of centralised GFS UK training and development budget
