Description UBS Global Asset Management requires an experienced fund accountant to oversee its stable of infrastructure and, recently announced, private equity funds. Core is the UBS International Infrastructure Fund, a 15 year $1.52bn closed end fund, with IIF2 expected to be launched in 2009. The I&PE initiative is part of the drive to diversify the UBS Global Asset Management business and respond to investor sentiment, which in current markets, is moving towards ‘harder' assets, such as infrastructure, property and private equity. As part of this build out, the Infrastructure and Private Equity division require a Funds Accountant within the existing London based team. The I&PE team is 25 headcounts in London, New York, Hong Kong and Sydney.
The primary purpose of the Fund Accountant's role is to ensure that the infrastructure and private equity funds are properly recorded, client reporting is accurate and underlying investments booked in an efficient and tax effective manner. The role also includes oversight of the third party fund administrator (JP Morgan) and is responsible for ensuring optimum financial design and structuring of new funds. The role has responsibility for ensuring the back office operates smoothly and effectively and in compliance with regulations and generally accepted standards, working with the team's General Counsel. The role will support both the Infrastructure Investment team and Private Equity team. The individual must display cultural sensitivity to the differing regional areas and be able to influence overall adherence to set objectives and standards. The role will report to the Head of I&PE and will have a junior accountant reporting to them. Requirements The individual must possess the following attributes:
