This role is part of Gesban UK, which has been recently established to provide accounting services to UK subsidiaries of the Santander Group.
Your role will be to ensure financial systems static data and controls are maintained on a daily basis as well as investigating and resolving any amount posted to the forced balance suspense account. You will be responsible for a daily reconciliation between two financial systems as well as ensuring that relevant Sarbanes-Oxley and Audit Controls are adhered to. Part of your role will be to support and cover for other team members as required as well as contributing to ad hoc projects that may arise through ongoing Finance system changes.
Our ideal candidate will be a part-qualified accountant with a good awareness of Retail Banking Financial accounting. You will need to be confident in working with Finance general ledger systems as well as Excel, Access and Business Objects with excellent problem solving and investigations skills. Previous experience of chart of accounts work is required and ideally you will have had experience of consolidation of accounts. You'll be a good team player with the ability to be flexible in approach and working hours around month end.
