Job Description The Business: Corporate Banking (CB) is the umbrella division for the UK Corporate Banking, Business & Commercial Banking, Large Corporate Banking and Global Transaction Services businesses- Newly formed, the division employs staff across 5 regions with an annual income in excess of £6bn- Global Transaction Services (GTS) provides innovative and tailored cash management, liquidity management, information services, merchant services, commercial card & trade solutions globally to meet our customers' needs- Clients are based in the UK, Netherlands, Western Europe & CEEMEA, Americas and Asia Pacific- Large Corporate Banking provides relationship management for circa 110 large UK Corporate Connections and is the market leading provider of Treasury Depository Services and Shipping- UK Corporate Banking provides debt financing, risk management and investment services to major corporations and financial institutions- Business & Commercial Banking provides small and medium sized UK businesses with support through a comprehensive range of tailored products and services, and a network of branch-based business advisers- Lombard and RBS Invoice Finance also form part of the business offering- The Finance Function: The Corporate Banking Finance team, headed by CFO Nigel Bretton, is responsible for working with the business delivering financial leadership, control, commercial insight and advice- Our finance community is located in four countries around the world, supporting UK and Global businesses- The Role: This role reports to the Financial Controller E-Commerce and is responsible for supporting the financial and management information requirements of the Payment Trust business channels- This role will undertake and manage the monthly reporting cycle ensuring compliance internal /external controls whilst also providing value-adding analysis that directly impacts the achievement of business objectives- Responsibilities Key responsibilities include: § Support Financial Controller in providing analysis and advice to eCommerce Management on all designated financial and non-financial matters, which have a bearing on the performance and strategic direction of the business- § Development and timely delivery of financial budgets and forecasts supporting the delivery of the International strategy § Manage and co-ordinate the monthly flash reporting, and performance management processes across WorldPay & Bibit- § Provide insightful and commercially-focused analysis on both the financial and management information to the E-Commerce Board- § Financial management of the balance sheet, in particular accruals and provisions for bad debts- § Ensuring compliance with internal controls and governance processes as well as latest accounting standards e-g- IAS § To deputise for Financial Controller as required- § To support Financial Controller in ad hoc projects- § Provide coaching and development opportunities to team member Requirements Essential experience: § Qualified accountant (or qualified by experience) § Strong technical knowledge, including preparation of accounts under IAS § Good understanding of banking systems & products § Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly to non-Finance staff at all levels § Ability to build rapport and influence at senior level § Ability to manage workload effectively and priorities conflicting demands Supplementary experience: § Knowledge of banking products would be an advantage § Knowledge of bank financial systems The Individual § Work in collaborative team environment with particular focus on co-ordinating own tasks and responsibilities with Shared Finance Function and Decision Support Team- § Confident and capable of working with the business at all levels § Exhibit personal commitment, self motivation and enthusiasm § Remain technically up to date § Awareness of wider commercial issues § Strive for continuous improvement
