Job Description Purpose of the role To support the identification and recruitment of high calibre senior management talent for the RBS Group, with significant individual accountability for the initial phases of that process- Other Important Relationships The role holder will interface with RBS group board members and their direct reports- Deliverables - To gain a thorough understanding of each talent identification requirement, whether recruitment or mapping, absorbing all the important characteristics of role and experience requirements-
- To conduct detailed and imaginative initial research, combining tenacious investigation with instinctive exploration-
- To prepare concise and well structured target reports to a high level of detail accuracy-
- To make first contact with potential candidates and sources, engaging with confidence and complete discretion- Strike an appropriate balance between selling and assessing and demonstrate the maturity to form an initial appraisal of suitability-
- To prepare efficient contact report summaries ensuring accurate tracking and cross referencing-
- To undertake follow up contact in a timely and direct manner, constantly employing practices which contribute to excellence in candidate care and the enhancement of RBS employer brand-
- On an ongoing basis, to maintain a high level of background research activity through press and internet screening, industry journals and capturing market and people intelligence residing personally with Senior Management throughout the RBS Group-
- To maintain and develop comprehensive database systems to support all aspects of the job-
The Individual Experience: - Graduate
- Research experience within a retained Executive Search firm, ideally with direct experience of the financial services sector-
- Or experience in a general research related field

- Good general business understanding; familiar with typical organisational structures and attuned to the dynamics of the financial services market place-
- A self-starter; adept at time management, work prioritisation and achieving deadlines-
- Resourceful and creative; able to reach beyond the obvious and capable of independently devising research strategies-
- Strong but sensitive telephone manner; able to interact politely, credibly and persuasively and to tailor the approach to the audience-
- Tenacious and resilient; has the reserves of energy and resourcefulness to continue where others may concede defeat-
- Highly developed PC, database management and internet navigational skills; familiar with the relevant search engines and eager to update knowledge-
- Well developed interpersonal skills: able to facilitate the positioning and effectiveness of the Executive Search function with the Group-
