Job Description RBS Wealth Management consists of a number of small wealth management and private banking brands, the most prominent of which is Coutts and Co, and is present in the UK, Switzerland, Channel Islands and Asia- The division manages client assets of c£80bn, delivering an annual profit of c£300m- The Executive Decision Support team within Finance is responsible for providing key financial insight to the Wealth Executive as well as driving and influencing performance so as to achieve the functional and divisional strategic goals Purpose of the role - How it adds value · Work as a key member of a small dynamic Executive Support team, carrying out monthly reporting, planning and decision support activities for the Wealth Management division- · Closely support the Wealth CFO and CEO in all forms of strategic financial analysis and presentation - including internal financial analysis as well as presentations to the Group Executive and for key RBS committees- · Key involvement in the preparation of analytic material and participation in the performance and challenge reviews of each of division's underlying businesses including Coutts UK, Coutts International, and RBSI- · Liaising with and responding to needs of key Group stakeholders e-g- Group Investor Relations, Group Financial Planning & Analysis, FiRST and Group Chief Accountants · Provide decision support to divisional functions such as Risk, HR and Finance including monthly performance management and assisting in the creation of functional forecasts Deliverables: Criteria by which success can be mea · Monthly reporting: accurate and timely review of Wealth business unit (BU) flash reports and monthly management accounts- Concise explanation of Wealth results to Wealth Executive and Group- · Quarterly / Annual reporting: as for monthly reporting but including preparation of information for Investor Relations, Interim Management Statements, and other Group Finance functions- Also providing support for external auditors and developing briefing packs submitted to the Group CEO · Annual planning and quarterly re-forecasting: analysis of draft budgets for Wealth Executive, presentation of summary and backing papers for Wealth submissions to Group Finance and Group CEO- · Ad hoc reporting: Working with strategy functions in preparation of papers for Wealth ExCo; providing analytical support to CFO · Group Initiatives: research into implication for Wealth of various Group initiatives, production of reporting as required and assisting in the implementation of Finance Transformation Programme · Functional support: Quality service in support of all matters of management information delivery to Wealth functions- Robust and independent support, challenge & review of functional business plans- · Process Improvement: Pivotal and innovative contribution to the added-value development and on-going efficiency improvements of the Executive Support team, working closely with GFS UK and BU finance teams- The Individual Critical Competencies · Qualified Accountant (or equivalent with experience) · High level of numeracy and strong analytical/problem solving skills- · Ability to work on complex issues and ambiguity, providing solutions and recommendations often working to tight deadlines · Proven inter-personal skills with the ability to communicate with staff at all levels of the organisation across the globe · Good understanding of the value of financial and non-financial management information and its uses- · Excellent written and verbal communication skills- PEF Competencies · Achieving Excellence L3 · Influencing L3 · Communicating L3 · Collaborating for Success L3 · Understanding Issues L3 · Finding Solutions L3 Experience · Significant experience in a decision support role, preferably in the banking / financial services industry- · Excellent knowledge of Banking and Wealth Management products, systems and processes preferable- Other Significant Features of the Role · This is an excellent Senior Analyst role working for one of the key players within the wealth management industry;
