Job Description The Executive Decision Support team are commercially focused and provide critical executive support to the CEO and CFO of Corporate Banking Division- This nature of workload for these roles will vary from time to time according to business needs- Current areas of focus include improved MI to Corporate Banking Board, Bank of England bank lending returns, risk adjusted performance metrics (RAPM), competitor reporting, revenue sharing, Asset Protection Scheme reporting and cost management- Requirements Essential Experience: (Must have skills) · Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW) · Career background in management information reporting and business analysis · Understanding of planning and forecasting processes · Previous experience of working in partnership with Senior Management and in a team environment · Advanced analytical ability to take raw information and present it clearly with business commentary · Strong Excel skills, including modelling skills · Knowledge of MI systems and query tools · Intermediate or advanced Powerpoint skills Supplementary Experience: (Useful additional skills) · Strong reporting and modelling skills and a career background in partnering with operational business as well as function colleagues · Knowledge of banking products would be an advantage but is not essential Responsibilities Key responsibilities may include: · Provide insightful and commercially-focused analysis on both financial and management information, demonstrating judgement and a thorough understanding of the business · Develop and deliver the necessary analysis, tools and advice to both challenge and support the development of the business · Develop fruitful, sustainable relationships within CB Finance, Shared Services Finance and across the Group in order to deliver the above · Provide timely information of a consistently high standard to all customers and stakeholders · Participate in the production, collation and review of business plans / re-forecasts- Understanding and communicating potential threats and opportunities · Use technical and business knowledge to carry out financial modelling and scenario analysis utilising the appropriate systems, resources and tools · Contribute to the production of high quality slide presentation for use by the CEO and CFO of Corporate Banking Division · Resolve all queries raised in a professional and timely manner · Participate in Business and Finance projects, as required · Ensure best practise is shared across the whole Finance Team · Ensure compliance with essential procedures and standards of practice · Maintain an attitude of continual process and personal improvement, identifying and overcoming barriers to progress The Individual · Self motivated with a flexible approach to workload and good planning and organising skills · Ability to maintain effective and sustainable relationships with key stakeholders and work well as part of a team · Proven ability to understand and interpret complex financial information and identify patterns and trends from a set of data · Ability to work and communicate effectively with both Finance and non-Finance staff · Ownership of customers' needs including assessment of requirements through to delivery · Ability to express self clearly both in writing and verbally · Drive and determination to continually look for better, more efficient ways to deliver · Ability to remove barriers that constrain performance
