Job Description The B&C Central Decision Support (DS) team supports the FD, the CEO and the COO of B&C- A team of six (including the Head of DS), the team is key to maintaining relationships with the Corporate Banking Executive Decision Support Team, each of the business DS teams and our shared services finance colleagues (responsible for financial control)- Main deliverables include rolling forecasts, formal budgeting and forecasting, strategic plans, Board reporting, month end reporting and ad hoc analysis for the Executives (including product analysis, return on equity etc)- Requirements Essential Experience: (Must have skills) Business knowledge · Understanding of dynamics and economics of financial services businesses · Understanding of role that Finance plays in RBS · Previous experience of working with Operational areas Technical knowledge · Qualified Accountant / Qualified by Experience (management accounting experience in Banking) · Previous financial control experience · Solid systems background Supplementary Experience: (Useful additional skills) · Knowledge of Walker ( general ledger), Excel (advanced), Khalix Responsibilities · Manage the relationship with Treasury colleagues, with a focus on capital analysis and balance sheet · Deliver the Reporting MI for the Asset and Liability Committee · Own the relationship with our Lombard Decision Support team, ensuring interaction on B&F, result interpretation and any ad hoc analysis · Coordination and delivery of change control process for B&C Finance · Consider and implement ongoing improvements to existing output to B&C Board including standard packs- · Key contributor in process improvements, keeping aware of changes in the Financial Reporting Environment, & the implications on the business · Involvement in the Budgeting and Forecasting process · Key team player, contributing to wider objectives beyond day to day deliverables · Assessment and continual improvement of the control environment that the Finance team operates within · Provide adequate cover for other members of the Central DS Team- · Support Head of DS on delivery of strategy slides and rating agency presentations- · Work with colleagues on implementing the target operating model within the team · Involvement in Ad hoc cost reviews · Work with Head of DS on ad hoc analysis to support Execs on B&C Board The Individual · Good communicator with solid interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate across a diverse range of customers · Proven ability to understand and interpret financial information and identify patterns and trends from a set of data · Ability to present financial information to non-financial management teams · Ability to work and communicate effectively with both Finance and non-Finance staff · Ability to juggle many conflicting priorities within a complex matrix reporting structure but still deliver on time to high quality · Strong prioritisation of business requirements and delivering to tight deadlines · Strong ownership of customers' needs including assessing requirements through to delivery · Drive and determination to continually look for better, more efficient ways to deliver- · Self motivated with a flexible approach to workload and good planning and organising skills · Ability to remove barriers that constrain performance · Pride in producing high quality accurate information
