Background Sun Life Direct are the market leading direct to consumer business who sell affordable and accessible protection and savings products direct to those within the UK mass market. We are one of the most experienced direct marketing companies in the life assurance sector and have the largest share of the over 50 whole of life market. The Customer Insight team support the Sun Life Direct business through provision of customer analysis, campaign analysis and Management Information, making recommendations to improve the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. Key deliverables are to provide analysis and reports that turn data into meaningful insight, ensuring that such insight along with relevant recommendations are effectively communicated to the appropriate areas of the business. This is a great opportunity to join a large marketing department within a blue chip financial services organisation for a 12 month Fixed Term Contract . Your role will be supporting the customer relationship team where you will be responsible for identifying and targeting key customers for marketing activities. This will involve producing mailing selections and customer analysis, as well as producing regular data extracts and MI. The role - Use the Customer Insight database (smartFOCUS) to create and extract lists of customers for mailing, research and other purposes.
- Carry out analysis eg profiling and counts, using Customer Insight tools, i.e. smartFOCUS .
- Action regular, process-driven tasks including monthly marketing reports, data transfer audit reports and running regular validity testing to ensure integrity of smartFOCUS.
- To become a specialist in smartFOCUS usage and contribute to it's benefit by suggesting new uses and potential development opportunities.
- Assist with key CI projects such as predictive modelling and mailing selections, working with Modelling Manager or Corporate Partner Consultant to deliver value to all distribution channels.
- Maintain and improve the administration & tracking of Sun Life Direct data transfer (according to Data Protection policies and processes). Assist with monthly confirmation that all Sun Life Direct data transfers comply with DPA, through running of regular reports
- Support the Sun Life Data Expert with the checking, recording and delivery of all data held internally within CI.
Skills, knowledge and behaviour - Proven track record working in a marketing or customer insight department where you have been providing insight into customer behaviour.
- Ideally you will have experience of data counts, extractions, segmentation and analysis.
- Mathematical related qualification or similar would be a distinct advantage but not essential
- Strong analytic skills, with an ability to analyse, present and communicate data in a compelling format
- Attention to detail and organisational skills
- Problem solving skills
- MS Office, especially Excel.
- Experience of using Access would be an advantage
- Knowledge of databases
- Knowledge of Financial Services & Marketing Practices ideal but not essential
- It would be advantageous to have skills in any of the following analysis tools: Alterian, SmartFocus, SPSS, or SAS
