Based in a branch, you'll the first point of contact for customers, helping them find the products and services which are right for them, as well as maintaining good relationships to encourage future sales-


    Requirements

    Each week, we'll expect you to generate a minimum number of sales leads, book a set number of appointments and handle a quota of customer queries-  It's also vital that you follow closely all our legal compliance procedures and you must also adhere to the RBS values, in interaction with both customers and colleagues-


      Responsibilities

      You'll meet and greet customers in your branch, dealing with their queries and concerns and providing the help they need-  You will either offer the appropriate product or service yourself, or introduce the customer to a colleague who'll be able to advise them further-

      With a view to both generating sales leads and ensuring world-class customer service, you'll also contact customers to discuss their precise needs and arrange appointments, while also liaising with colleagues and business partners for assistance when you need it-

      Essentially, you will:
      . Be the first point of contact for customers in the branch
      . Pursue potential sales leads
      . Update both customer files and your diary after each action
      . Action postal/fax/e-mail correspondence where necessary
      . Prepare batches of work for processing off-site

        Selection Process 

        Step 1 - Online Application

        • Gathering your personal details, for example work history
        • Questions relating to RBS minimum requirements for the role
        • Completion of a Work Style Assessment

        Step 2 - Telephone Interview

        ·          A telephone interview lasting up to 20 minutes which focuses on the capabilities needed to do the job

        Step 3 - Face to Face Interview including Practical Activity

        • Questions relating to the capabilities required for the job including a Practical Job Related Activity
        • This is also a great opportunity for you to ask any questions


        Screening Process  

        We take every precaution to protect the information that we hold about our customers so, as part of our recruitment process we will carry out the following checks:  

        • Credit Check
        • Verification of previous 2 years activity

        If you are invited to an interview you will need to provide the following documents:

        • Proof of right to work within the UK- either a valid EU Passport OR a full Birth Certificate AND proof of National Insurance number, OR a valid Passport stamped with a UK work permit visa that confirms current right to work within UK-
        • Current utility bill or bank statement with your name and address on it and dated within the last 3 months (council tax bills can be within 6 months)

        You will also need to provide documents to verify your activity over the past 2 years- These could include:

        • Current payslip dated within the last 3 months, or a P45 or P60 if dated within the last 3 months
        • If you have less than 2 years work experience because you have recently left education please provide documentation regarding academic qualifications obtained within this period
        If your circumstances are not covered by the above, the documentation required will be discussed at interview
        In 2009, the RBS Group reached an agreement with the European Commission to reduce its share of the UK banking market following the bank's receipt of state aid- In August 2010, the RBS Group agreed to sell its RBS branches in England and Wales and NatWest branches in Scotland to Santander- The sale includes the personal and SME accounts attached to these branches, all Direct Business Banking customer accounts (small enterprises banking with either RBS or NatWest Direct Banking) and mid-corporate customers-

        These businesses are known as RBS England & Wales, NatWest Scotland or 'Rainbow'- Subject to regulatory approvals and other conditions, we expect to complete the move to Santander in the second half of 2012-
