Background
This position sits in AXA Commercial; a business with it's own P&L accountability, formed after the separation of AXA Insurance's Commercial and Personal Lines businesses. You will lead and direct AXA Commercial & AXA Personal credit management activities to ensure delivery of credit risk & credit control policies, monitoring and mitigation strategies to minimise AXA Insurance's exposure. You will also lead activity to define and implement strategies maximising our non-risk income and service levels from instalment payment plans. You will negotiate with executive members and represent AXA in negotiations around industry initiatives and in discussions with the insurer community. You will be self-driven with the ability to change current management thinking and approaches whilst being aware of wider business activities and priorities. You will be the subject matter expert within AXA Insurance for Intermediary Client Money rules and Consumer Credit Act legislation. We are in a challenging environment with credit management focus being the highest it has ever been. You will be key in advancing current methods and thinking to ensure AXA plays a leading role in this environment.
Skills, knowledge and behaviour
- ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualification required or relevant experience.
- Institute of Credit Management membership.
- Excellent general insurance knowledge - preferred.
- Well developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire confidence and motivate staff.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- First class analytical skills.
- Specialist understanding of accounting and control for insurance.
- Aware of accountancy practices.
- Knowledge of Consumer and Intermediary Credit regulation.
- Financial systems experience and knowledge.
- Experience of motivating and managing teams.
- Experience of managing premium collection teams.
- Evidence of influencing senior management.
- Experience of negotiating with external industry bodies.
