Supporting Santander Global Banking and Markets (SGBM) in the analysis of hedge fund counterparties whose management companies are located within the UK and Ireland, This role will be active in supporting SGBM's ambitious growth plans with this sector. The role covers the analysis and rating of Structured Products (RMBS and other product types) in the Bank's portfolio. In order to support operational flexibility across the wider Financial team experience in covering other FI sectors (specifically Banks and Insurers) would also be highly desirable. You will also ensure that documentation is executed for hedge fund counterparties, including responsibility for recommending triggers, covenants and credit support documents therein and undertake due diligence meetings with Hedge Fund counterparties with the support of team management as appropriate.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable credit experience (specifically hedge funds) and have been exposed to financial markets and therefore have a working knowledge of capital markets and treasury products (specifically derivatives). You will also be able to undertake financial analysis including an assessment of key market risk factors (Var/DV01 etc) as they impact on hedge fund counterparties and have an understanding of legal and documentation issues, particularly derivatives and loan documentation. Whilst not essential, our ideal candidate will have prior exposure in presenting papers to high level Credit Committees/Senior Management and be able to converse in Spanish and have prior exposure to other financial institutions/counterparties (primarily Banks or Insurers). You will also ideally be highly numerate and as such be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a business/financial type subject and have sound Microsoft word and excel skills and good modelling skills and knowledge of ISIS would be advantageous.
